PCI express bus speed only running at x8 v3.0 instead of x16 v3.0

That is NOT correct. 4000G and 5000G series chips have 16 lanes of PCIe for GPU. AMD just skimped on lanes for 2000G and 3000G chips.

Ryzen 2000 and 3000 series APU's only have 8 lanes for GPU.

    Milestones

Alas, I'm probably not going to show up too much. Soon I'm entering the land of paying for my power usage.

My dinky little i3-12100F is not doing too badly. :D This is a nice big work unit for it. The small work units tend to be between 80k-120k PPD.

The X58 system seems to be puttering along on the non-virtualbox units now. No problems so far. Might try another run of virtualbox units on another system when I get back to my computers.

Let's see if there's actually any work to get. Tried out the virtualbox work, and noped out of that again. Might just go over and do folding cpu jobs instead.

Just started up a new PC for boinc. Gonna be a while before I get a feel for it's output. Might need to spin up something else to keep the heat going during downtime. :)

So far the Navi card have been working fine. I didn't expect it to work either, because ROCM doesn't officially support Navi, but apparently the OpenCL part works fine. It's running on Gentoo with Linux kernel 5.4.12 and ROCM 3.0.

Yeah, I'm actually rather impressed. Not planning for it to be a fulltime folder, but until I get the waterblock for it and can be bothered to rebuild my main PC, I'm probably going to let it fold. And yes, it's under Linux. More points than the 1070 with the same WU's.

It's an RX 5700. It's AMD. :D It's holding around the 150W power limit for the core.

    Testing a new friend. Only a 5700 though. :P

mstenholm is running Ubuntu 18.04. You seem to have one based on 16.04, which could explain some differences. My machine here running 18.04 already have amd microcode installed by default.

Only thing in additional drivers were the Nvidia driver. I would expect Ubuntu to keep amd microcode up to date on it's own.

4 screw holes lined up, so it's reasonable secure. Have been thinking about putting some rubber feet behind it to prevent accidental bending onto the case where the mounting isn't as secure.
