In all current games the x800gto will beat the x1600pro at stock speeds. The x1600xt will about match a x800. Both cards can be overclocked fine, but the x800 would have some headroom because the chip is just a dumbed down x850 xt (pe even) while the x1600pro's chip is a little more limited...

depending on how reliable it is... putting your os on there would be awesome for system performance. and your swap file :-x Or... get 2 of them, raid 0 them together.... that might have some interesting performance advantages...

there's also a "Force..." setting that you can try. If all else fails... there's also powerstrip, and you can set whatever resolutions you want with that.

get an x800gto and unlock it... much better deal. 256 less mb of ram... you won't see the difference, but you'll definatelly see the performance difference between the two cards, the x800 destroying the x1600 tbh. unlocking is risky though, you may or may not be able to, but even if you can't...
