US Prices of AMD Ryzen Processors Surface

Shouldn't we compare these rumored Ryzen prices to Broadwell-E chips rather than Kaby Lake-S ones?

AMD's Radeon Pro Duo Deeply Discounted on Expected Vega Onslaught

This thing suffers from such an identity crisis that I'm starting to wonder if it was just a way for them to put excessive Fiji stock to use (and now it needs to be discounted because they still haven't managed to sell much of it).

AMD Named a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality

To those saying this isn't a tech/quality issue and it shouldn't be news, think of it this way: tech companies are all starving for skilled workers, they are trying to clean their act when it comes to hiring women and minorities because IT (in particular, but tech in general) is stuck with the...

Future Intel Chipset to Feature WLAN Controllers and USB 3.1

Wasn't USB 3.1 support supposed to be part of the 200 series? Intel is quietly pushing it to the next iteration again?

MSI Readies a "Backpack" Portable Gaming PC for VR

This possibly wins this week's most ridiculous idea prize; why not power it with a battery and gasoline tank while we're at it, add some wheels and it's almost a vehicle too!

No Takers for VR: TechPowerUp New GPU Survey

Big surprise, VR is nice and fun, but it's also rife with exaggerated industry-induced hype; time will tell whether it's a fad or a definite thing, but so far it's mostly hot air.

Intel Debuts the Skull Canyon Gaming NUC

How do you know? Iris Pro has been getting quite good, and you'd think a standard rez like 1080p is something the GPU on this processor can pull without sacrificing too much eye candy. Seriously, we all agree iGPUs aren't as good as dGPUs, but they've come a long way since the crappy GMA/HD...

AMD Unveils the Radeon Pro Duo Graphics Card

Very weird product; gamers who create, and creators who game, are a very strange use case to throw something at - a high-end video card that sits somewhere between 500 and 1k probably already does the job adequately, what's the incentive to get a 1.5k card that won't really do a better job?

Intel "Skylake-U" Ultra Low Power CPU Lineup Detailed

There's a huge market for sub-$500 laptops, and frankly for people like my parents, they don't need much more than a Celeron chip to allow them to go on Facebook and watch a video or two.

Intel Debuts its 6th Generation Core Processor Family and Z170 Express Chipset

It's a soft launch, this is only for the K chips - the full line-up for desktop, but also laptops (possibly even overclockable mobile chips) is on August 18th.

Intel "Skylake" to be 6th Generation Core Series, First i7-6700K Benchmarks

You guessed it, hardware manufacturers are out of real improvement ideas to sell us new stuff - Intel suffers from a better-than-expected return on all those great Core chips since Nehalem. I'm still on a Sandy Bridge i7-2600 and I have little reason to upgrade eventhough I'll be 3 generations...

NVIDIA to Launch GeForce GTX 960 in January

"and a $200-ish price" We all know how that's going to end.. closer to $300 or so.

AMD/ATI Tempts Game Developers with DirectX 10.1

Hasn't Nvidia said they have no plan to adopt 10.1 though? I can't see how that helps developers given Nvidia's rather large market share, why bother to put out performance features that only work on ATI cards?
