ok, got them both going-thanks. I think the problem was NOT have the 'run at highest priority box checked.

it wouldn't run from task scheduler either so i thought i'd try throttlestop. it wouldn't start either. i tried triggering with logon & at system start but no diff. both programs run ok by clicking shortcut or exe. i also have realtemp which runs fine from startup folder.

win10 pro, 22H2 I put realtemp shortcut in startup folder & ccleaner shows it present but it does not appear on bootup this is a new win10 install. it does come up on my other computer.
