Zhaoxin KX-7000 8-Core CPU Gets Geekbenched

I don't believe anyone uses those crazy numbers of tracks and pug-ins, but I expect the pros doing sound tracks for movies use more tracks and plug-ins then anyone would guess. If they are using soft synths on the same machine, a modern CPU might have some problems. Many songs can use 60 to 100...

Zhaoxin KX-7000 8-Core CPU Gets Geekbenched

I'm experenced in the use of a couple of DAWs. As you are aware, there are lots of different DAWs Most everybody knows some Pro-Tools. Reaper is a very strong competitor to Pro-Tools as more recording is done at home. Ableton and Studio One are also very popular. Cakewalk is free and very MIDI...

Zhaoxin KX-7000 8-Core CPU Gets Geekbenched

I'll do that, but I think I will start by writing a few of the DAW and hardware producers and seeing if they have any internal benchmarks or what they would suggest. Cockos and Steinberger come to mind. Steinberger(Yamaha) makes Cubase and some very good Audio Interfaces. They are also the...

Zhaoxin KX-7000 8-Core CPU Gets Geekbenched

I agree that the story is important and interesting. The Sandy-Bridge Xeons were a game changer. China can do a lot of work with these chips. ........but The "We cover, all things tech" is wrong. TechPowerUp ignores audio creation. I have never seen an article comparing DAW's . In all the...

    Intel 14A Node Delivers 15% Improvement over 18A, A14-E Adds Another 5%

To cool it you will need something like this:

Microsoft Auto-updating Eligible Windows 11 PCs to Version 23H2

back to 10. Or should I say I could not get 10 to upgrade to 11. It seems windows update doesn't like the Blue Stacks emulator. This computer (Intel 7900x) is six years old. Guess it is not going to run windows 11.

Nextorage Launches "X Series" PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD

This is getting ridiculous. ReRam is superior to flash in all ways technical. It is only flash's scale of production that makes it cheaper. (Although, I would buy something like this if I had to replace an M2 today.)

Microsoft Auto-updating Eligible Windows 11 PCs to Version 23H2

I'll give it a shot. Maybe Microsoft fixed the bugs in Windows defender and desktop files. I can always clonezilla back to 10.

AMD Develops ROCm-based Solution to Run Unmodified NVIDIA's CUDA Binaries on AMD Graphics

I think it would be to nvidia's advantage to have such a project allowing anyone to use cudu. Once your using their software you are halfway to being a customer. Camel nose -> tent.

Intel Readies Xeon W3500 and W2500 "Sapphire Rapids Refresh" Series HEDT Processors

I am going to need to replace my i9 7900x at some point.

Windows 11 Preview Build Removes WordPad

Literally the dumbest OS company. How windows f_ed up and became the dominant desktop is a wonder. These mouth breathes couldn't pour piss from a boot with instructions on the heal. It is only a matter of time before IBM, Oracle or Google make a serious effort to turn WINE into something...

Windows 12 Might be a Windows 11 24H2 Update, Still Carries AI-Centric Features

but you and I aren't the customer, we are the product. Which is way a real useful substitute for windows is a necessity and a certainty.

Windows 12 Might be a Windows 11 24H2 Update, Still Carries AI-Centric Features

I would love to update, but it is buggy. Windows defender has been broken for over a year. Windows 11 cant find files on the desktop immediately after it is created.

https://www.theregister.com/2023/10/13/canon_nanoimprint_litho/ this should hopefully bring the cost down. (still waiting on a graphine memristor memory module)
