It's not always that simple. I have a 1080Ti that is having intermittent issues, not OCed, never mined with. It just loses video out every few days. Unfortunately I have a couple of data applications that require running on Cuda cores, so AMD is not a choice for me. Not every enthusiast is a...
Wouldn't it have been smarter for Ngreedia to take all those 2060 and 2060S dies and turn them into mining boards? They could fill the market they basically own anyway and then leave the Ampere dies to the actual GPU buyers.
I had no issue buying a 5950X at MSRP and from Amazon. Had to wait 2 weeks for delivery but still got one. CPUs aren't really an issue if you put in a bit of work and are willing to do a bit of waiting. 5600, 5800 and 5900 come and go in stock every few days. The real problem is getting a GPU...
I think the press release suffers from language differences, I bet the 40 'containers' are likely 40 cases (cardboard boxes) with some number of cards in them, and assuming the cards are valued at retail is faulty. MSI doesn't charge retail prices to the channel, else no one would sell MSI cards.
If it was truly only around 225 cards that would not have taken up an entire cargo container, MSI may not have even been the target, just an unfortunate victim. There is no real context but a lot of assumptions in the article. It would have been better if the assumed reasons for the theft were...
Note that Gigabyte uses a very specific naming scheme for their BIOS updates and this BIOS has a letter behind the number so it is a beta BIOS. OC.N has a lot of reports of WHEA errors with this particular BETA.
I am just waiting on a Hybrid Copper 3080. EVGA only listed a 3090 Hybrid Copper. I too am of the belief that there isn't 2X the performance difference between the 3080 and 3090 to justify a fraction more than 2X the price. The 3090 is this gens 2080 with respect to value. Sorry if you are a...
