I noticed a performance drop too when I went to 7.7 from 7.6 on my X1950Pro. Can I just reinstall the 7.6 drivers over the 7.7's?

Well, I opted for the Zalman as my X1950Pro uses the newer PCB with a VRU layout exactly like the X1950GT. With the Zalman attached I was able to overclock via ATI Overdrive to 621MHz on the GPU and 1540MHz on the RAM. My GPU temperature never went over 61C. My VRU's are still quite hot though...

Does the RAM on a video card reakky need to be cooled? I'm using a X1950Pro currently and thinking about replacing the stock HS&F with a Zalman VF900-CU to cool the GPU but does the DDR3 RAM chips actually get hot enough to require the heat sinks?
