I typically like getting a cheaper, but known to OC well model, with or without modifications.
Currently I am running a factory AMD 7900XTX on a custom loop with a Alphacool waterblock and the ASRock 7900XTX Aqua bios flashed on it, which increases its available powerlimit. I can get it to hold...
You want to flash the standard aqua bios, if you are trying to flash the extreme aqua bios it will not work. Also, are you trying to flash the bios with the card powered up? You just write to the chip with it powered off completely.
I didn't see very good AMD representation on here. So I present to you my heavily OCed 7900 XTX on a full custom loop. The best overclocking video card I think I have ever had.

I am not sure if a re-flash will resolve the issue, but that is the only thing I can recommend trying. You want to flash the standard non-extreme Aqua bios, then once that works use AsRock’s utility to update the standard bios to the extreme bios.
We don’t know the specific reasons why, we just know the early adopters who have tried have bricked their cards.
You need to use the CH341 programmer to write the standard aqua bios, then use the update tool to update the standard bios to the extreme bios.
it doesn’t matter which position you...
Well then you can’t put the Aqua bios on your card then. AMD has purposely limited bios flashing capabilities on their video cards starting with the 6000 series without using more “intrusive” methods.
The CH341A a USB tool that you would need to attach to the chip on your card (which means you would have to disassemble the card) that would allow you to write directly to the bios chip.
You need to flash the normal Aqua bios first, which will allow you to update it to the extreme bios with...
You can’t flash the Aqua bios onto the Taichi unless you use a CH341 bios programmer. Also, you don’t want to flash the Extreme bios directly when doing that, you want to use the normal Aqua bios and update it with that tool.

Yes, I get what you are saying, and I can do that, but from what Turbogear has found with that specific extracted bios with gpu-z is that it will brick the card if someone trys to use it, so I am not sure it is wise to share.
I don't think we want to share the actual new bios dump. From what turbogear had tested, flashing that bios directly seems to not work and brick the card. It may be a issue with the extraction process with GPU-Z and that specific bios, I am not sure, but I think turbogear was in contact with...
MPT doesn't suppport the 7900 cards, and they don't plan on adding support or, from the sounds of it, developing MPT further, which in turns make the harder OC guys turn to bios options.
As an update, I was able to get my 7900XTX Phantom running with the new Aqua OC bios with the a little...
I got it working. My Asrock 7900XTX Phantom has the updated Aqua bios on it! Just waiting for my waterblock to get here to get it in and start playing.
