I have an ASRock board and built several machines with ASRock boards and of the 4 mainstream brands they are the most reliable I've seen. I also find them to have a lower price than most equivalents with the same features. I'm not sure what features you saw they didn't have but I can't think of any.

Optane, while very much dead is great. I had a bog standard 500GB NVME as a boot drive and I switched to a 280GB 900p and it is noticeably faster in Windows and it fixed the infamous (and supposedly unfixable) Fortnite stutter. I hope to buy a p5800x one day if the prices ever drop.
I don't see the use case here. If you have very limited space it would just be better to use the laptop without an external keyboard. The external trackpad also seems like a waste as your laptop will have one built in. I'd rather a cheap mouse than a nice trackpad any day of the week and I'm...
