I had a similar issue in the past and it turned out to be the power supply. Computer would start or not when I pressed the power button, was quite random and hard to diagnose.
First step would be to bypass the power button as previously said.
Small update: I have enable DOCP but limited the RAM to 6000 MHz in the "advanced settings" in bios. Computer is stable and feels (subjectively) faster.

I can confirm after buying a note 8 that samsung still has not changed its bloatware ways. Was also really temped by LG but in the end I chose Samsung so there you go....guess you know my vote.
