Seems like most/all Navi48 users are experiencing this from what I've seen. There's some speculation that it could be a thing with the epoxy Hynix uses for the packaging since the 20GTs Hynix on RDNA3 boards also runs kinda hot (but not as bad as 9070)
I haven't seen specific info on the sensor...
Good thread.
To clarify, my understanding (from info here and elsewhere) is that without tricks or mods, the "original" MI50 board (the one with the FPGA) will either brick or refuse to acknowledge the new BIOS if one does nothing but drop a VII image on the Winbond chip by the PCIe slot? By...
It seems pretty unlikely that MPT / SPPT will start working again. AMD broke all that stuff on purpose and from what I'm seeing, 9070 OC'ing experience is already worse than Navi31 due to firmware/software decisions AMD made so I wouldn't get hopes up.
Ok that's kinda what I thought, gotta seal the whole PCB aside from the cores/mem/power stages that need active cooling.
My other GPUs I do have on core-only blocks and yeah that has worked for past icey runs. Much easier to manage condensation when only a little of the board is covered! I...
Bad time to be an Intel shareholder or board member but my only concern is hoping that Lip-Bu Tan is an appreciator of consumer-grade Graphics Processing Units, or at least sees why it would be valuable for Intel to continue developing them ;-)
what it says. I got my hands on a pair of of PowerColor LCS 6990 which are good for HWBot, if not for gaming (tho I am gonna sample some old gamez on 'em for funzies)
I think they'd benefit from the ole "toss the rads in a bucket of icewater" for benching but the idea of having slabs of chilled...
A good use for mGPU in general is having a second card for Lossless Scaling to get "free" (as in, not affecting base framerate) Framegen + Upscaling + ReShade. Arc cards could be a good fit for that given their price/perf. The performance requirements for LSFG are not trivial but also not too...
Howdy y'all! Excited to be on the team and boosting TPU on the OC scene ^_^ Big fan of the resources on the site for a long time now, indispensable for GPU modding ;-)
Just joined up, but I managed to get some last-minute subs in
