Best Power Supply Buying Guide (Jun 2020)

Been using my Corsair TX650W for 10 years now. At first used for 1055T, since 2014 with a 4770K, lived through multiple GPUs (5770, 6850, 660Ti, 970, now 1070Ti). Plan to upgrade the whole system when Zen3 and RTX3000 are released and am looking at the current PSUs. The best...

Epic Games Gives Mesmerizing Look at Unreal Engine 5 Running Real Time on PlayStation 5

Because Epic said so? It did not drop "below 60fps", it was locked at 30 with dynamic resolution to keep it stable.

Epic Games Gives Mesmerizing Look at Unreal Engine 5 Running Real Time on PlayStation 5

The demo was 1440p ("most of the time", meaning it went lower at some points) 30fps.

Epic Games Gives Mesmerizing Look at Unreal Engine 5 Running Real Time on PlayStation 5

Why do you keep talking about 2080Tis when Epic already said that a 2070S runs the demo with "Pretty Good Performance". And what are you talking about when you say that "these consoles are on par"? They are not even out yet, and if the rumors of RTX3000 are true, by the time they are released a...

Sony Toys with the Idea of Porting PlayStation-exclusives to PC

Would make sense to port the previous gen games whenever the new console is released, especially when they will be offering backwards compatibility with PS5, so they won't be able to milk the "remasters" as console sellers.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark

It's a software issue, not hardware (as posted in my first reply, I'm running 4770k at 4.2 with RAM at 1866), just like anachron showed in his DX11vDX12 tests. DX11 kills the CPU render performance for some reason and drags down GPU along with it, resulting it lower overall CPU/GPU usage % and...

Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark

It does, but in a good way as it does not bottleneck the GPU, unlike in DX11. Here's a great DX11vsDX12 video with CPU/GPU usage shown: https://youtu.be/G9YNqbmIYYI

Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark

Looks like DX11 is the issue here (I'm still on Win7), so the CPU usage gets murdered in populated areas (drops to 40-50% usage) and takes the GPU along for the ride.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark

So is up with that GPU Bound stat? I'm running 4770K at 4.2GHz with 32GB 1600 DDR3 oc'ed to 1866. Upgraded my 970 to 1070Ti today, but the GPU Bound stat makes no sense - was 5% with 970 (46 avg. FPS on Ultra 1200p) and 23% with 1070Ti (67 avg. FPS). So if lower % means bigger CPU bottleneck...

Zotac GeForce RTX 2060 AMP 6 GB

Why would anything change if nothing is wrong with it? 1. TPU is doing the reviews on an open test bench 2. You can bet your ass that they are not doing reviews in a 30C room. So, remove ~10C for the high ambient temp, a few degrees for the GPU sitting in a case and you'll end up with the...
