Well i think this mobo belongs in this thread also... Works a breeze, even with a Corsair RM850x ATX 3.1.
If you look good, you can see the cooling block from a NVMe 980 Pro samsung SSD. It boot's up from an NVMe drive!
FC parameter has absolutely nothing to do with bad sectors...
FC", also ID 252 actually means for Samsung SSD: Read ECC Count
Source: PM863a datasheet
Thus nothing to let your sleep off this, happens with many SSD now and then.
So that counter is nothing to worry about, ECC reading errors that...
Yeah that's me i can't sell them for some reason because i never know when i going to need it later on. I like playing around with much older rigs. It's fun to see Windows 95 running and play old games for me. Still have an old WD RAPTOR HDD spinning at 10.000rpm with only 74GB space... From...
Another thing that is important for me is that i don't like to put away old stuff that still works fine, i keep everything and i can't put it away. Radeon's, GTX970, GTX1060, RTX3060 and so on... All still working perfectly! I play older games with them on older rigs. And then i am happy that...
Don't get me wrong, i like playing games on PC the most, but the prices and heat and energy... A 5090 can warm up your room with 500W, 900W in short spikes! Many people can't play a decent game because of costs, and it goes up every year...
If this trend continue, gaming will soon be only for rich people on PC. Then i think it's better to spend your money on a PS5 or so... Uses less energy, no burning wires, no 1000W Power Supply, no excessive cooling method, less noise, less energy cost's. And with the money left over go on...
For a HDD nothing is too much to write data away, you just have to agree with some waiting time, that's all there is to. Especially when writing small files it can go very slow. Big chunks go for me relative fast with a modern HDD. Even nowadays HDD are still in use in many data-centers or cloud...
M3CR047 firmware just fixes this flaw, but nothing to let you sleep from this... As said attacker needs to know in advance what SSD type and brand you have, very unlikely to happen with home users... And also needs to crack your computer before he can do this...
I did not see any issues with the Ugreen, witch brand is well known in Europe for good quality.
I sold 25 of them with no complaints, i use 5 of them here no overheating with even a WD SN850X 4TB inside, just don't cover the ventilator holes, of course then it will overheat with no cool air.
The oldest drive i have is a Samsung HDD from the year 1998. IDE drive with a total of 3.2Gb space!
Followed by my famous WD Raptor from 2003 with 74 Gb total capacity and 10.000rpm. They both still work okay! If you handle them with some love they will serve you long time!
The Raptor appeared...
I also have a pack of 10 Intel X-25E SATA SSD 64GB lying around here. They are small and not so fast but they have one point with even Optane can't beat; They are all 100 percent SLC NAND!
Nearly indestructible. I asked @GabrielLP14 on TPM to put them in his database, but he can't find any...
