MSI to Integrate Killer NIC with Motherboards?

I would place the chip in the section of (often nearly useless) givemeyoumoney "inventions" - same as PCIe x1 SATA "6G" Marvell chips and nVidia x16 bus for graphics cards and SLI licensing - things that a bit better than other used, but still not compliing with the standards, and highly...

MSI to Integrate Killer NIC with Motherboards?

Did you take my words seriously?

MSI to Integrate Killer NIC with Motherboards?

Thouse chips fully offload TCP/IP from CPU and speed up transactions, so WILL make difference. But will the price increase be justified (same for Big Foot)?

MSI to Integrate Killer NIC with Motherboards?

Why not to use Mellanox or Cisco 10GB NIC with universal 1/10GB RJ45 connector then? Will REALLY improve LAN speed, no matter, gaming or not - and with not too big price premium, compared with BigFoot solution. :):toast::)

ASRock Readies P55 Extreme4, Packs Four USB 3.0 and SATA 6 Gbps Ports Each

Installing a PLX switch adds a negligible latency (contrary to nVidia rubbish, slow and only v.1.1 really) and by using the PLX PEX PEX 8680 a P55 board may have banwidth enough for three "graphics x16", one PCIe x8 (for RAID card) and a couple of USB PCIe x1 links. Marvell chips are a trash -...

GeForce GTX 400 Series Clock Speeds and Other Details Surface

That's no rumor - pure calculation (512 CUDA cores in theory, 480 and less in practice)

GeForce GTX 400 Series Clock Speeds and Other Details Surface

Much ado about nothing! More than 5% of CUDA cores DOA! Not very promising start:laugh:

NVIDIA Pitches GeForce GTX 300 Series to Clinch Performance Crown

And you brain would not differ between 50 and 60 FPS (only effect of luminiscent lamps makes some difference).

NVIDIA Pitches GeForce GTX 300 Series to Clinch Performance Crown

Whichever the numbers are, they show that GTX3XX is a bad scaler. 380 looses more than 50% cores number gain when compared to 360. That means there would not be any sence in dual GTX3XX configuration (the productivity gain will hardly be about 5%). So, in high-end gaming it's a looser.

    Real apps for FireStream

Are there real apps for FireStream cards (off the box ones)? nVidia has Adobe accelerator (and even downgraded version of Tesla for it), but I could not find anything exept do-it-yourself SDK from AMD

OCZ Demos 1 TB RAID0 Solid-State Drive with Unbelievable Transfer Speeds

Good volume, bad performance Good volume, very bad performance (think using better RAID controller would not raise the price too much). PCIe drive should perform at least 1.2GB/s read, 0.9-1GB/s write, else no sence to occupy the slot. Well, the price @ $1.5 per 1GB is exellent for solution

the Nehalem boards (FB Infiniband, CX4 Infiniband, no IB). Exellent for SQL server (or server based RAM-drive to be used by workstation or SQL server). From2U Twin2 Solution
