AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D and 5000GT Chips Start Selling in Europe

That's just your opinion and not factual. While the Vega gpu may not get many more driver updates, that really would only affect new games that will be released; and you are not going to be playing those on an iGPU anyway. I still have several machines in our student CAD lab with FirePro...

Distro for Old Windows 7 Tablet?

Since you verified that its a 64 bit cpu, you have options at least. Still say chrome os via chrome flex is probably the best considering your stated use case as it is the simplest UI and no reason to use terminal at all. Official google chrome browser, so no possible issues for sites that...

Distro for Old Windows 7 Tablet?

If you can verify that it has a 64-bit capable processor, I would go Chrome Flex. Its light and simple with no real fuss. The only issue may be wifi if its a less common module. Otherwise, Ubuntu mate or ldxe (Lubuntu), but they have dropped support for 32 bit only chips, the last one being i...

What was your first AMD x86-64 bit CPU?

Sempron 64 2600+ Socket 754 (Palermo core) with an ATi x1300 Pro. It was a quick and dirty build as my Athlon XP 2100+ died for reasons I didn't figure out. I only used for a few months as it dual-core x2 were due out in just a few months. Jumped to an Athlon 64 x2 4400+ (Toledo - 1MB L2 per...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

I've been eyeing this model in 43" to replace my LG 55" that will not fit in my apartment. Have you tried its composite input? How is it with SD signals? Separately, I recently ordered a steelseries sensi ten mouse and arctis nova 1 headset in white to go along with my asus g14 2022 amd...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

I just got the same for $1100 new. I was about to spend for a Framework as my old laptop is at the end of its road, but for just a bit more I get something to game on.. heck yeah! Haven't stressed it yet, been downloading Fallen Order and Forza 3 with a t-mobile hotspot, so it might be a while...

    TPU's Nostalgic Hardware Club

Tore down the M9700. The existing thermal paste was like concrete! Finally got the GPU's, CPU, and chipset cleaned and reapplied some thermal paste (cooler master ice fusion). Hoping temps come down a bit.

    Your favourite console?

N64. I rode my bike through a thunderstorm to pick up my episode 1 podracer edition as soon as base exchange called saying it was in. my bike chain rusted, and got an ass chewing from my mom. Totally Worth It!

    What's your latest tech purchase?

I have been having trouble with space for all my old PC's. In order to make my wife happy, I recently got rid of my Skt 754 system that I used as a retro XP machine. Little does she know that I bought something to takes it place. At least this will take up a lot less room :)

    What's your latest tech purchase?

Been scratching my "upgrade" itches with some non-video card purchases. After giving in and getting MS flight Sim 2020 to replace my aging 2002 version; my 500GB nvme quickly showed its space limitations. (it only has Windows 11, office 2019, firefox browser and Forza 3 on it) Hoping that I...

Ryzen users, safe to upgrade windows 11?

Technically, yes, it is safe to move to Windows 11. I haven't noticed any issues on my 5600x or my 2500u. Now should you? Thats a personal question. There are some UI design issues to get over, and the settings page is "messy" to say the least. But it does work, I have not had any system...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

Installed my AE-5 Plus this last weekend. I have to admit, I do not think it is an upgrade from my X-Fi, but I knew that it days of being usable were coming to an end. At least its internal, not another usb device, and so far, drivers seem to be solid. One thing that is an improvement over...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

I have been on a bit of a buying spree the last two months, thanks to a "retention bonus" that was handed out in November. My main improvement was getting rid of 2 24" monitors and joining the ranks of ultra wide monitor owner. I do not think I can go back now: Acer Nitro XZ342CK Pbmiiphx 34"...
