So, I have to sandpaper the stains off the heatsink, but the die has that crap dried on it too.

Used paper towel and cotton sticks but it feels like that the surface has bumps, like the lm dried up and hardened somehow. Atm normal thermal paste is giving me better results than lm, so I'm guessing that the heatsink didn't make proper contact and the lm hardened and with the later...

So, the other day my notebook started freezing and buzzing so I had to take it apart only to discover that it was the hdd. Before taking apart my temps were just great 73c max on cpu and 66c max for gpu with lm, cleaning up the old lm with 90% alcohol and applying new lm raised the temps by 7c...

If you take look at the gpu heatsink you see that it didn't make good contact if I'm not mistaken, how would I proceed to fix that?

I read many tutorials and none mentioned what the 1.6v slider were, just wanted to be sure that it wasn't a bug otherwise I would flash 1.6v and kill the card lol

Thanks for the guide, I read it but the voltage table is different than mine, and still doesn't explain what the 1.6v values are.

Just found it funny that nobody ever mentioned what are those voltages.

Svet said that gpu bios is separated from the main one, and I flashed a gtx 880m a couple of times.

Well that is why I'm asking here :) but in case of brick I can just flash the original bios from a bootable right? Also gpu-z never showed more than 1v over long periods of full load at 1038mhz, but in the bios tweaker is full of 1.2mv values, I'd like to know what I can adjust and what not.

Are you sure? So which one should I touch for overclocking or undervolting the core?

Hello, I'm trying to understand the voltage table in maxwell bios tweaker 2, as far I know the card runs at 1.2v right? Then why is there 3 columns with 1.6v max??

UPDATE: So got help from Svet and now I have an unlocked bios! Undervolted the cpu and other stuff by -100mv and I got a -6c drop in cpu temps :)) Now the only thing left to do is undervolt the gpu as well and get some liquid metal :toast:
