The brand name "Dark Knight" seems to be quite a fashion these days. Xigmatek is preparing a new CPU cooler, the Dark Knight HDT for global launch. The cooler is compatible with Intel LGA-775 and AMD sockets 754, 939, 940, AM2(+). It measures 120x50x159 mm, and weighs 660 g.

The cooling mechanism consists of three copper heatpipes that come in direct contact with the CPU, which convery heat to to the array of aluminum fins. The fins are cooled by a 120 mm fan that rotates at speeds between 1000 and 2000 rpm. The fan has a maximum noise-level of 22 dBA. It features white LEDs for lighting.

So... This is a RS1283 with black blades on the fan instead of orange.:ohwell: I nice option for those who dread orange I suppose.

At least they went with the higher CFM fan design to keep temps down, unlike how the plain black fan performs!!!

Mine came with black fan. But it wasn't led.

You bought a Dark Night?

The 1283 in the specs you show has a lower CFM fan than the Achilles and the Red Scorpion(which perform much better).
I am assuming this is the same fan as those mentioned just with the blades being black vs. orange!

The standard 1283 comes with a 56.3CFM fan and the others run a 61.3CFM fan. While it isnt the greates of margins, the difference is noticable!

Well they probably added $5 to the price too ;)

This comes with a bolt thru kit so its actually worth it; the bolt thru kit will take off around 5*C, as well as preventing the cooler from bending the board. I need one :(

BTW the first version of the Xigmatek (the one I have) spins between 1000~2000RPM.

Looks very nice - might have to invest when they are released.

My S1283 and 84 is sitting in my water cooling parts. Never needed to worry about the fans when I had the Kaze and the Delta... But, Like Bta is saying... "Dark Knight" is being used WAY to much... At lease Xig knows that it means to be a ALL BLACK one..

very nice heatsink.

As far as I know the promotion to send out brackets for free was until they got them out for sale. They do not offer them for free anylonger

I wonder when this is coming out. And what will the price be.

A black sword???

Ooooooooooooh! They don't have the rights to use anything Batman related so it a Black Knight instead! Way to jump on the buzzword bandwagon Xigmatek. :shadedshu

Some marketing firms will do anything to justify their existence. :slap:
Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster that they make excellent coolers.

So is the sword included?

I wish I had the money for one of these.. I would totally upgrade my s1283 to this :(

A picture of that on the box...sounds likely.

Nah, get rid of the box, forget about the cooler (I don't need one ATM), I want that sword... :D

Xig doesn't give away free bolt-thru kits anymore...can't ask them for entire swords :(
