Socket AM2 Forward Compatible With AM3 CPUs

i remember hearing from somewhere that amd will move to the lga style chips as well, the pins on the mobos not the cpu

AMD will be moving to LGA with Socket F, which is the new server socket. However, desktop users won't see LGA Sockets for quite some times it seems. Since AM3 will be backwards compatible with AM2, that means that it will have to use the regular ZIF socket just like AM2. So we will see AMD using ZIFs at least though K8L.

Never said AM2 or 3 was or would be LGA, but that AMD is moving to them for obvious reasons.
