Monitor Help!!!

Hi all i have recently made a kick ass rig and found that my moniter is rubbish so i want to upgrade.
I have a budget of around £200.

i have found the following moniters that i am interested in

what ones better and are there any i have overlooked

What video card are you running? I like the Samsung, but the Dell does have some super-resolution.

In that case I'd go for the Dell. 2048x1152 is very nice.

never heard of that res before

I would go with a 1920 since maybe some games won't support it... also, the 1920 will let you play games with you 4870x2 longer because its a lower native res... This is a very good screen... recomended it several times

ok guys thanks i did look at that monitor on OverClockers but thought it was to small do they do that screen but bigger?

maybe a Noobish question, but I've only heard of 2560x1600 and 2560x1024.......but 2048x1152????

will all games support that weird res? I know its a 16:9, but I still never heard of that res....

The dell isn't the greatest choice IMO. I would go with a 16:10 native ratio monitor.
2560x1600 or 1920x1200. These offer the widest range of resolutions. They can still run 1920x1080, aka 16:9 for hi def movies, or games at 16:10.

but its resized, therefore not as good image... it makes it blurry... seriously, go with 1080p (1920x1080), all games now support that res AND there's not going to be a black line on top while watching 1080p or playing your HD console

It will not make it blurry at all, unless you are scaling up. Scaling down has no effect on image quality. If your monitor is capable of 1920x1200 and you run 1920x1080, there will be no difference between that and a monitor that runs native at 1920x1080 (except for small horizontal black bands on top and bottom). The point is on a 4:3 monitor 1600x1200 was about the max. Now with wide screen at 16:10 you can run 1920x1200. So same viewable height as old 4:3 montiors, but more veiwable width.

scaling down does make it blurry... a 1920x1200 going on 1680x1050 is blurry.... BUT if 1920x1200 is playing 1920x1080, the screen will just cut off some pixels in height and get same image quality...

Yes, you see, that is not correct. A 1920x1200 going on a 1680x1050 is Up-scaling. Because the 1680 has to scale up to 1920...you see? However a 1920x1200 can run 1680x150 with no problems and no degradation in picture quality.

huh? I thought running the res 1680x1050 on a 1920x1200 monitor gives a worse image quality....
