Wi Console Specs Unveiled

Lol...when I was little back then, I used to play Super Mario with my mom, we would like take turns after we lose one life...
haha, my mom is actually the only person who beat the original mario in my whole family on the original console (i eventually did about a year ago on an emulator, but i had to use state saves cuz i just didn't have that time)

but still! now she won't even look at games because they are "too confusing"

i hope she plays wii with me, and she'll prolly kick my ass becaues she's ridiculously good at random things (ie mario)

i think my girlfriend might actually take interest into this console..she said she'd love to play a mini game where she had to flip food to cook it, or pretend to swing a club in minigolf.

ha...I still play Super Mario now on the GameCube...I have a Gameboy player, and I got the game for the gameboy, so I could play it on the TV.

Btw, check your PM.

I genuinely would love the Wii to take off really well and with it being cheap I would probably get one for my children to bash about on (and the wife and I LOL) but as far as competing with $ony (maybe not Micro$oft) I dont think it stands a chance (but I would like to be proven wrong)

Yeah it aint the best out there, but factor this into the equation.
Computer-wise most people have a mid to low range system.
Not a lot of people can afford or own a high end system.
So Nintendo's target market is def. much larger than that of Xbox's or PS3's.

Also, take into account that gas prices are much higher than they were a year ago (or even a couple of months back). With the increase in gas prices, other items, like food, goes up in price as well. As a result of this, people have less spending money this year (and that was shown since retail stores are making less money than last year). Due to that I think Nintendo is smart in making a cheaper system. I bet a lot of people would def. buy one since its the cheapest one out there and they have a long and reliable history.

Hey it may not be the best system, but as seen with computers, most people cant afford and dont own the best system to have all the eye candy.

I don't see why people wouldn't buy the Wii. After I explain how it could be cool to people, they generally like the concept and half of them say they're definitely going to buy it, along with another console.

And here's the kicker, Microsoft even said that gamers should buy their Xbox360 ALONG WITH A NINTENDO WII. Don't tell me that's a bad endorsement because it's Microsoft - if a "competitor" (some of you still have in your heads that the Wii is actually going to compete with the Xbox360 and the PS3) thinks that consumers ought to buy your product and their product, then thats a good thing.

And to people saying that the PS3 will remain supreme... you must not have heard the bad news surrounding it.

To the dorks that say that good gameplay must be accompanied by amazing graphics, I can play CS:S at nearly 200 FPS, but I usually only play CS 1.6 because it's more fun... and I reckon more servers are up for 1.6 than Source anyways. (But then again, DOD:S > old DoD)

I think I will buy one since I'm a long time nintendo fan until Gamecube, when I stopped playing nintendo systems. I honestly HATE consoles for shooters, Halo is a great game, but thumbsticks destroy it in my mind. I love fast paced shooters like CS:S, and all those other FPS games, but only for PC. Some games simply do not work on console. I have my mid end PC, and I'll get a low end game console, why bother buying a Xbox360 or PS3 if you have the hardware inside your PC, or the capability to upgrade to it. I honestly think Nintendos Inovation will win the crowd here. Nintendo was smart, I'm game.

The days of Nintendo being top dog when it comes to consoles are long gone. This will fall flat on its arse like the GameCube did. This console will be too little, too late (Nintendo hung themsleves by sticking with cartridges for the N64 when Sony PlayStation's used CD's)

When this stupidly named Wii fails to be taken seriously Nintendo will back out of the console making market and concentrate on making games for other platforms instead (just like SEGA did)

This is just my personal opinion (and I know you Nintendo fanboys will disagree) I used to love Nintendo consoles (the NES / Super Nintendo wiped the floor with the Master System / Mega Drive back in the day) but Sony & Microsoft have just become too big to be even worried by this inferior new machine!

Its sad really as Nintendo owned the console market (until people got bored with Mario LOL)

Nah, Nintendo has a strangle hold on the portable market... the DS was just a hint at what they seem to be up to now...

I think these specs will be plenty... everyone always noobishly bashed the gamecubes graphics, but anyone seen mario sunshine screenshots? looks pretty dang nice.

Nintendo focus's on game CONTENT not OMGWTF GRAPHICZZ!!!!! :wtf:

And it's very much what they need to be doing. I've got like 14 games for xbox, and 2 games for my DS lite.

Yet I love my DS lite so much more. The games don't suck. :D

And yes, I'm sorry if I enjoy playing entertaing games, rather than gawking at graphics for 5 minutes then moving on to the next hyped up piece of crap..
