Graphics major Galaxy pulled out another GeForce GTS 250 accelerator from its hat, this time, laying design emphasis on the cooler and memory. The new cooler design, as claimed by the company, keeps temperatures up to 5 °C cooler than what a reference-design cooler would manage. To bring about electrical stability, Galaxy used a 5-phase power circuit. Its 512 MB of GDDR3 memory is made of high-performance 0.8 ns DRAM chips made by Samsung. This, again as the company claims, offers memory overclocking headroom till 1300 MHz (2600 MHz DDR), from its stock speed of 1100 MHz (2200 MHz DDR). Its clock speeds are in tune with the reference speeds: 738/1836/2200 MHz (core/shader/memory). Its price is yet to be known.

because memory is what's holding back the monster that is the G92. :rockout:

The one thing I wonder about nVidia cards nowdays is:

Will a 40nm G92 be the basis for the "next-gen" GTS350 (or whatever they name it...)

lol its quite possible. they hit a winner with G92.

There are 12 Cylon Models....

8800GT. 8800GTS. 9800GT. 9800GTX. GTS 250. They are well known by many names, but they share the same face.

Now if only the face was that of Tricia Helfer or Grace Park and we'd be set

I bet lucifer is living in these cards!

That is one of the nicest heatsink stickers I've seen. Would the Samsung memory really be much of a difference is the question.

its only 50Mhz higher (100MHz DDR). 99% of cards could clock further than that anyway.

Wow. what a fast cheap card. G92 based cards are in here to stay for a very long time because of their superior performance and quality. I already have one of these and I can play all my games on very high settings. I dont get whats the hate with the G92 based cards that some people have.

whats wrong with this cheap fast card? Not everyone can afford a gtx260 or above as they are overly expensive.

and Mussels: I am sure that a heavy clocked GTX 250 is as fast as 1 ATI 4870 if not faster :).

I have clocked my 250 at 815mhz core, 1350mhz memory and 1960mhz shader. and i can play every games smoothly on high settings.

They are here to stay up until next gen xbox and ps arrives i guess.. and even so, maybe they will put these into entry level after then..

Thats right. G92 cards are still great fast and cheap cards and popular.

Ahahahahaha? not funny. 4770 is nothing. If ATI is the man and has balls it should make this card 256bit instead of 128bit and still behind the 4850.

GTX 250 is the king.

Haha... what?

Saying that one of best bang-for-the-buck cards right now is "nothing" is questionable, at best.

Why questionable? GTX250 is one of the fully featured and fully functional cheap and fast video card.

and straight away were back to the whinge about renaming the products.

all they did was give it better memory and the jokes come out, again.

sometimes i love you guys and sometimes...... iunno, i got over it.

G92 still rocks, and clearly has power to compete for a little while to come, a fact some of you should get used to, before the next rename :slap:

theres still a lot of cards faster than it, and some which are better bang for your buck. Oh, and most of them are on the ATI side.

I never get tired of this debate :)

and ill say this, no matter what rabbits ATI ever pull out of their hat, Nvidia has an answer, maybe not THE answer, but an answer.

And they have been first to the punch before.

I tend to think of the gfx card market as always in motion, and only at a time of purchase should you really weigh in the bang for buck.

in any case :p cos I have (and nvidia make) the fastest card on the planet, it helps me sleep at night :)

wait for the 5870x2. the nightmares will come again.

lol I'm actually the opposite, knowing i had the fastest card on the planet was cool but then again knowing that i didn't have a job and spent most of my money on a gpu that showed improvements only in crysis and benchmarks really gave me a guilt trip as all other games ran fine 60fps + on my 4850 xfire setup.
