Dutch firm Nexus Technology enters the market for laptop accessories with a unique and patented liquid cooling solution. The TDD-9000 is a soft black velvet blanket with inside a gel-like liquid. The patented liquid has unique heat dissipating characteristics and works completely passive and noiseless.
"When you put the laptop cooling pad on your lap you will feel your lap turn colder within 10 seconds" says Michael van der Jagt, CEO of Nexus Technology. The Taiwanese testing institute SGS Taiwan has done independent tests that support these claims. Their tests with a laptop of their choice show significant improvement in temperatures of the laptop's components, with improvements up to 17°C.

SGS showed that their turned-on laptop reaches a temperature of 50°C after 40 minutes on a regular surface, while on the TDD-9000 it reaches only 36°C in 40 minutes. You can re-boost the cooling performance of the cooling pad by simply lifting it up and shake it every 20 minutes for optimal cooling.

The TDD-9000 liquid laptop cooling pad is a true portable solution. The cooling pad can be folded and easily carried with the laptop without the danger of scratching the laptop. It can be used anytime anywhere: in a train, in a plane, at home on the sofa… you will never have an uncomfortable warm lap due to your annoying hot laptop.

The Nexus TDD-9000 liquid cooling pad will be available from mid-June 2009 and will be in stores for EURO 19,95 incl VAT. More information can be found on http://www.stopthenoise.com.

This unique laptop cooling device deserves a good availability in the market worldwide and therefore Nexus is welcoming new distributors and retailers. They are requested to contact the Nexus headquarters in The Netherlands.

They need to start making pillows from this stuff. lol.

someone should cut them open, take the "gel" out and submerge a motherboard in it for Dice or LN2 runs :rockout:

That is a really good idea right there. That'd pe perfect for my hotplate of a laptop.

is this really necessary for an laptop

is this really necessary for an laptop

Many unborn sons and daughters will appreciate this thing. Melting your lap really isn't fun.
I'll keep a look out for this pads!

Very smart. Since the laptops usually are elevated by the stupid "feet" studs, laptop coolers rarely ever touch the surface of the coolers. Moreover fan coolers only remove heat on the outside. However this pad cooler conforms to the shape and there is more heat conducted.

I have an eee though so laptop cooling?.... not really needed.

does it may block the bottom fan holes as its soft  ?? and may pushed up unless you must use it with your laptop on only a desk ......

Does it only cool one side? Because I really don't want my legs 17C cooler than they were before, frostburn anyone?

it will stuck the underside fan and then it's over with your Lappy!
If not i would be surprised how blocking all my vents underside and touching it will help it cool down?
Inside no "hot" component rarely touches the casing wich is partly ISOLATED against inside heat.
Only metal cased with side fans would benefit but i haven't seen one in my lifetime!

[EDIT]
A Gapfiller material which help to conduct heat would be nice too if i can custom cut it! but most times it's way to expensive

Why not just put your laptop on a thin cushion and then on your lap? I understand that it won;t cool the lappy, but that's not really an issue, it's the burning of the lap that is the problem.

The problem is the burning of the components inside my lappy.

My wife would LOVE this. She cant have her laptop on her lap more than 15 minutes before she gets warm.
