ASUS launches P6X58 Premium with SATA 6 Gb/s Support

Can't follow your logic but maybe I'm to tired. So Be Happy with your conclusion!:pimp:

I was being sarcastic .. again.:slap:

You said that 6G will be out in 2022, i said that its already here because its shows in the picture... so yeah.

I think you misunderstand, it's Sata 3.0 but it's actual name to the public will be Sata 6g. Not a sixth generation, but the possible bandwidth it can trasmit.

Give me what I want

Yeah-yeah-yeah, when is USB 3.0 coming so I can buy a motherboard already.

Go asus :p

Very nice,we just need new mechanical drives to go with the new standard now i guess.

1 question: is this build in the X58 chipset or does it use a 3rd party Sata controler?

I think I rather wait a bit for USB 3.0 to come out to give me the green light. It's pretty cool but I'm pretty fine with the speeds I have for now :)

It uses 3rd party controller.

It wont happen, todays drives just arent fast enough and most likely never will be. They cant even hit 3Gbp/s mark.

Its all up to SSD drives now.

Woot! Nice lookin board there Asus!

Try not to get overloaded there Wizz, I'll donate $5 for a red bull if you need it ;)

That does look nice. I'm happy the chipset is still getting new boards.

bump for updated info in first post, performance scores and usb 3.0 info

Thanks for the update, half of us just care about the preformance benchmarks the other half want to see if they board is pretty :D

the bottom line is, unless you have one of those super super fast >300 MB/s SSDs you won't benefit from SATA 6 Gb. I expect a similar adoption progress like we had from SATA I to SATA II

wow first mobo with new sata technology , great news covering W1Z
