New Matrox Graphics eXpansion Modules Support DisplayPort Technology

Matrox Graphics Inc., the leading manufacturer of specialized graphics solutions, today unveiled the Matrox DualHead2Go DisplayPort Edition and TripleHead2Go DisplayPort Edition Graphics eXpansion Modules (GXMs) for DisplayPort-enabled computers and monitors. These latest GXMs incorporate the next-generation display interface standard, allowing users to benefit from DisplayPort technology on two or three displays.

i dunno, only 2 screens at 1200P? i'd expect people forking out for this to want three 1080P screens (two screens is hardly worth it, as every video card has two ports)

I agree with you though gfx cards cant run 2 screens as one display for games etc...
this will make the game think that 2/3 screens are one large screen...

pretty useless as you say for 1200p as the crosshair would be in the middle and you wouldnt see what youre shooting at

IIRC, Matrox family for multidisplay have two modes, one considering the monitors bezels as part of the screen, other without it. Without you'd know what you're shooting at, even tough the crosshair would be split across two screens.
That said, I'd rather go for a 3 displays setup over a 2 displays one, even if with larger monitors on the 2-d one.

I too must agree in that the dual to go's 1920x1200 is just not enough.

For in my case I have thought about selling my computer to get a laptop. Currently, I already have a 4-dvi out 3870x2 card in the desktop.

I have 3-three lcds' at the moment 1-24'' hp 1-22'' viewsonic and 1-cintiq12wx. I use the two larger sized monitors at 1920x1200 and 1600x1200 resolutions and the cintiq12wx at 1280x800.

If I get a laptop I would still want to use all 3-lcds' simultaneously. I use the 2-lcds' for CAD and the tablet for sketching so the triples' resolutions simply useless.

How is it that the dual has 1920x1200 yet the triple only 1680x1080...sounds like the designers at madox are mad as in not in the know, logic and/or pushing the envelope enough to provide the proper products to prospective customers.
