Global Gaming Factory Acquires The Pirate Bay Website

Which doesn't generate revenue for them further destroying the concept.

I also doubt any publishers would play along with this. Pay once, distribute indefinitely isn't a mantra they'll accept.

If that statement is accurate, my guess is in a year or two, it will turn into a Amazon- or Steam-like service.

Well even if they offer a DECENT priced content i would still go there. Even downloads are too expensive, must be HUGE mark up on distributing it that way.

Unless they use adds, generate cash, then pay for the right to distribute... like a rental service without the due dates...

Speculation is fun.

Its not blocked in the UK - Ive been able to access TBP all on more or less any machine with a net connection

United Kingdom
In the UK, The Pirate Bay is blocked by default by BT Mobile Broadband and other mobile broadband providers, as part of a blocking system that blocks access to sites considered to be "over 18" status. Customers can remove the block by contacting their ISP.[104]

Hope it wont end... :/

You can get in trouble for hosting illegal traffic. Generally, law enforcement targets those who host malicious traffic, not those who recieve it. I am much less likely to get in trouble if I download Crysis through a torrent than I am if I were to compile a torrent file and be the origional seeder of it. Even then it is unlikely, however.

"Mobile" = means phones with broadband. Not Broadband on the BT line, but with your mobile phone.
