Scythe Europe announces the release of Revision B CPU Coolers Kama Angle, Ninja 2 and Ninja Mini. One of the major improvements besides the new package design is the extended socket compatibility which now allows to mount these Scythe CPU coolers an even wider range of sockets.

Thanks to the M.S.M.C. (Multiplatform Socket Mounting Clips) it is now possible to mount the CPU Coolers on socket LGA 1366 and the upcoming LGA 1156. This improvement allows the new Kama Angle, Ninja 2 and Ninja Mini in the Revision B as well as a few more other Scythe CPU Coolers to gain more flexibility without requiring any further accessory. These new Clips have a wide range for the Push-Pins to slide and therefore can be mounted on the Intel based platforms LGA 1366, LGA 1156 and LGA775 by using only one clip. Well known performance and silence features of Scythe products are hereby compatible to Core i7 as well as Core i5 processors. Furthermore clips for socket 478 (Intel), 754, 939, AM2(+) and AM3 (AMD) are supply as in the first of Kama Angle, Ninja 2 and Ninja Mini.

Well designed clips Scythe. Nice move.

I dont like them for tall heatsinks. They look the same as the Intel ones with a flimsy metal bracket.

With the extra height of the heatsink you have more leverage and the plastic clips dont look strong enough.

I'll stick with bolt-thru.

clips work fine for many tall heatsinks. xigmateks work fine for example.

Yes, they get better pressure and therefore better temps with bolt-through - but i'm yet to hear of a single case of one falling off the system in use.

Muss - I've never heard of a Clip failing either - but I'd STILL never ever use one on my own mobo.

Personally I'd never even consider buying any "extreme" type cooler that relied on clips to support it - Mayhaps I'm just OCD when it comes to assembly integrity.

Thanx' the goodness for my TRUE120

I hate Intel for their greed, there was no point in changing the socket design.

Course there is - its called 'THE FUTURE' & if you dont want to be part of it. thats fine too, nobody forces you to wake up 10am & frog marches you down to the nearest hardware store at gunpoint & makes you buy i7 cpus. get off your soap box.

what are you thinking, intel are the best, just check around these forums people will tell you so :P

thats where your also wrong. Intel and AMD as CPU manufacturers have been focusing on different part of the markets. Intel - has been focusing on more high end processors & they do dominate the market, Im not gonna lie to you but AMD has focused more on the mid to lower end market & just recently have bought out more higher end chips which can be said as a step forward, even though they cant exactly run head to head with Intel.

Oh, am an amd user, I was being a bit scarcastic, if you look around this place its gone from what it was when i first found it(amd lovers) to mostly IFB's(as they are called on [h] and other sites)

the fact is i really dont care about the top of the market chips, they cost to much and are replaced to soon, give me a good value i can overclock and im happy :)

is it just me or has the title got a huge typo: 1336

I think Btarunr tried to spell L337 but got it wrong

1336 is the socket name, am i missing something?
