MSI, a world-wide leading manufacturer of computer components and systems, today in conjunction with THX and Creative announced its new Big Bang gaming motherboard, the first ever to implement THX TruStudio PC with Creative EAX ADVANCED HD 5.0 audio technology.

Big Bang features QuantumWave audio processing, combining THX TruStudio PC with Creative EAX ADVANCED HD 5.0 to deliver the most powerful and realistic gaming audio performance available from any motherboard.

THX TruStudio PC provides groundbreaking PC audio technologies, the result of collaborative research and development from Creative and THX. Together, these technologies deliver the fullest audio experience for music, movies and games, while remaining true to the intention of the artists who created it.

"Creative, as many know, is a range of audio products specifically designed and co-developed with the world's most prolific gaming enthusiasts. As a leading motherboard manufacturer, MSI is proud to become the world's first to include their most advanced THX TruStudio PC & Creative EAX ADVANCED HD 5.0 audio technology into our upcoming gaming line called Big Bang," says Jason Lee, MSI's Marketing Director. "We consider Creative to be the best gaming audio provider worldwide and believe our cooperation will redefine the listening experience among the gaming community."

"We are thrilled to extend the THX TruStudio PC technology to gaming systems featuring MSI Big Bang motherboards," said Mitch Gelman, chief operating officer at THX Ltd. " THX TruStudio PC lets gamers realize the sonic detail and impact of in-game sound elements as they are captured by game developers in the mixing studio. Whether you are listening to multi-channel games or stereo-based digital music, THX TruStudio PC elevates your entertainment experience."

"We're excited to continue our working relationship with MSI with the introduction of THX TruStudio PC and Creative EAX ADVANCED HD 5.0 in the Big Bang," said Steven Erickson, VP and GM of audio and video for Creative. "By implementing THX TruStudio PC with Creative EAX ADVANCED HD 5.0, MSI is providing customers with the most advanced, highest-quality audio experiences available today from a motherboard."

THX TruStudio PC
The THX TruStudio PC suite of technologies features THX TruStudio PC Surround, THX TruStudio PC Crystalizer, THX TruStudio PC Speaker, THX TruStudio PC Dialog Plus and THX TruStudio PC Smart Volume.

THX TruStudio PC Surround
THX TruStudio PC Surround provides immersion control to enhance the natural sense of audio depth and spaciousness by creating virtual surround sound channels. Stereo content or multi-channel content played over stereo speakers and headphones will sound as if it's coming from all sides while voices remain centered in front and original balance and timbre is preserved.

THX TruStudio PC Crystalizer
THX TruStudio PC Crystalizer restores the natural dynamic range that is lost when iTunes and MP3 music gets compressed. This makes the music sounds as good as the artist originally intended, and adds an enhanced level of realism for movies and games.

THX TruStudio PC Speaker
THX TruStudio PC Speaker fills in the missing low frequency tones and gives the extra impact for a better entertainment experience. Consumers no longer have to tolerate lack of bass in speakers built into notebook PCs, 2.0 speakers or headphones, as THX TruStudio PC Speaker technology dramatically improves the sound experience without a subwoofer.

THX TruStudio PC Dialog Plus
THX TruStudio PC Dialog Plus enhances the voices in movies for clearer dialog, allowing the listener to hear the dialog over the rest of the soundtrack and over ambient noise in the listening environment.

THX TruStudio PC Smart Volume
THX TruStudio PC Smart Volume addresses the problem of abrupt volume level changes during playback and between songs by automatically and continuously measuring volume, and intelligently applying gain and attenuation to compensate for those changes.

About the Big Bang Fuzion
The Big Bang Fuzion motherboard features a powerful Lucid HYDRA engine, which was designed to support different Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) within a single system. This provides the first viable alternative to offerings from current graphics card vendors that offer identical multi-GPU specific solutions. Big Bang utilizes a 100 percent Hi-C Cap server grade capacitor for enhanced stability in extreme gaming conditions. The official launch date is October 29th, 2009.

Great stuff :)
I really hope that they will make an AMD mobo as well with these specs and that Hydra chip.
Next year when AMD launches there 6-core phenom I want to make an AMD board with probably an Nvidia card.

Wait, Hydra + THX? Teh AWESOME! :D

Weird they talk all about the THX, then mention big bag fuzion at the bottom. Is the fuzion another mobo, or is this the mobo with lucid or what?

They've already announced that it has Hydra (maybe not via a PR). This one is about roping in Creative/THX

cant wait to see a full review on it... hopefuly tech powerup has one in the works ??? :)

Can't wait to see if the multi gpu chip thing works well :D

I only have one request,integrate EAX5.0 into your notebooks.:rockout:

This motherboard is looking better and better everyday.

ID like this to be their ROG boards like Asus. Maybe make it for the AMD platform as well.

It would be nice, but it seems as if LucidLogix has a close releationship with Intel so I don't think we'll see one for AMD for quite a while. :ohwell:

i want a x58 variant:rockout::banghead:

So, considering I see no mention or hardware, or actual specs, I'm assuming this is nothing more than fancy software on an otherwise pedestrian audio codec? No thanks, Ill stick with real audio cards. No amount of processing can make up for inferior physical components.

Hydra is an awesome idea, however. I fully support it as an integrated add on for a mobo.

Maybe they're using a decent 100+ dBA SNR DAC by Analog Devices. The crappy part however, is that they can't cram a decent AMP circuit on a mobo due to space constraints, so they end up using those weak surface-mounted capacitors in bunches. That's one reason why ASUS spun-out the audio into SupremeFX series audio risers.

Edit: As you can see in this pic, there's no audio cluster connector. So there should be an X-Fi audio riser similar to the one MSI has been using on several of its high-end boards. Those cards use Creative CA0110 chipset.

You may be right. If that be the case, it may be a decent solution, given that they selected good filtering and opamps. A proper sound card would still outperform it I would bet, tho.

I want one on day 1. The sound should be good enough (at least better than other onboard) and it gives me a reason not to get rid of my current video card and just add something newer to work with it.

I wish we could get ahold of the drivers for this board because then we could see if its based on the CAO111, the CAO110, CAO106, CAO2KX, or the X-Fi MB Software

If its for the CAO 110 or CAO106 then we could probably get the drivers to run on the Audigy SE, Audigy Value, and X-Fi Xtreme Audio

If its CAO2KX, we should be able to get them to run on the X-Fi Xtreme Music and higher.

It its based on the X-Fi MB then the drivers might be tweakable to run on newer codecs.(more than likely)

Anyone else find it odd that the term "Big Bang" has been coming up a lot in the computer world recently?

Awesome, THX is the premium sound with high-quality, predictable playback environment. Sounds MSI is certified by THX in PC Industry. Definitely get one to try it out. This model does support EAX what !!!!!!!!!!" EAX 5.0 HD " the one I used to it from SoundCard. Gee.

Is it true that you get 0.02 USD for every ad post?:shadedshu:rolleyes:
