Samsung Announces Massive, High-Performance 2 TB Eco-friendly HDDs

Did samsung ever fix/remedy/acknowledge the cold boot issue with the 1TB F1 spinpoint ?

Could you please describe this problem? What exactly is this cold boot issue?

I'm all for low power consumption devices that use non-polluting (or less polluting) material, but the marketing speak in this press release is enough to gag even the most seasoned news reader.

Marketing person + sword + fall on it = Win.

Just my opinion.

Screw that. I want all polar bears to drown because my rig needs the POWA!

good price?

hah, yeah right.. This should cost less than 100e.. and where the heck are larger drives? 2TB give me a break we should have 2TB SSDs by now. Although, no offence to samsung intended they make pretty decent quality and feature rich drives, but just in general.

I cannot believe tech.people here are actually buying this crap they keep pushing on "regular" as well as on SSD market.

Facepalm because:

1. Samsung marketing people are just full of shit making a usually good product sound stupid.

2. WTF is an EcoTriangle, that doesn't do anything, having an efficient motor reduces the power consumption, not an EcoTriangle..

3. We are actually all waiting for a 2TB Samsung F3 7200RPM 64MB Cache Drive (Possibly with SATA 6.0Gbps, but not essential), not a 5400RPM turd.

When the drive is turned on from cold boot it tries to spin up on a infinite loop.. spinning up then stopping for a split second then spinning up again.. the only way around this is to turn off the computer and then on again but once it has spinned up its good to go.

i've only ever had that on one hard drive, and it died within a week.

This is most definitely NOT a standard issue with samsung drives.

will make me more powerful than you can ever imagine

 What were you thinking about while you were writing that, have you some how devised a way to take over the world with a samsung 2tb?

Gotta agree here. Never even heard of the issue prior to this thread. My guess is just a bad drive.
