I just know my 7600 GS is a bit better than the 4290

sounds like the same thing, at higher clocks. unimpressive since my 3200 and 4200 would each boot at 1GHz + with mild overvolting


i'm interested in these boards - next upgrade i get needs to work properly with crossfire, support SATA 3 (at least 2 ports) and i need at least 2x USB3.0 ports, preferably more.
 
How is Hybrid-Crossfire with a 5450 possible on this motherboard? So far all cards compatible with hybrid crossfire have been based on the RV610 GPU (RV620 is a slightly improved RV610 more or less)

three guesses as to what core a 5450 will have...

edit: i tried googling it, couldnt find out.

My bed is that its basically RV610 with DX11 on top (much as 4200 was a 3200 with DX10.1 on top)

I've seen how far some of these onboard video circuits can clock to -- that's insane. Any reason why?

And what I'm interested in -- are these going to have the ACC-style core unlocking? I have a 550BE here that's just dying to have its two other cores unlocked.

i wanted to buy one of those better IGP's Boards but since the 4200 is a pooh hoo 3200 i felt a bit betrayed and stopped the idear

anyone here around with a gpu-z from 4200 or any specs on the IGP? would be the main selling point with an Phenom 2 X4 EE for my work/surf rig

ATI needs to be sued for this. It is not true, all they offer is some crap that causes dropped frames and other issues. Just like AVIVO for video transcoding, it only works on formats that are 10 years old and it does a poor job at that.

I'm a little dissapointed there is no DX11 support. I'm quite sure we saw some sample boards a few months back with DX11 integrated chipsets, or so was claimed. So the difference between a 890GX and a 790GX is USB 3.0, Sata III, a very mild bump in performance from the integrated graphics and a bit more efficient with power.
 
While I'm throughly disgusted they broke from their naming convention (3000 / 3100 / 3200 / 3300, and now 4200 / 4290), it doesn't actually make a difference. I just felt like griping when they skip the option (4300) that makes a billion times more sense.

Anyhoo, lets see some perf numbers and sexa-core processors!!!

Also, I believe the USB 3.0 isn't from the chipset, but the NEC controller being used on all current boards that have USB 3.0 ports.

When I Google, saw it listed as a Cedar Pro card.

I agree Hunter. What this board needs is some Mescaline. Personally I am waiting for the 890FX. It promises to be some kind of high powered mutant to weird to live and to strange to die.

I don't see the 890FX being much different from the 790FX except for USB 3.0 and SATA III and better power features. I'm going to wait for some reviews first though. Who knows? Maybe these will take current Phenom II's further, but I wouldn't bet the house on it.
