G.Skill International Co. Ltd., manufacturer of extreme performance memory and high performance solid-state storage, has today launched its latest Flare series high-performance DDR3 kits rated at 1800MHz, and optimized for AM3 790 & 890 platform with AMD C3 stepping processors.

G.Skill's Flare series has been specifically designed and tested for AM3 790 and the latest 890 platforms, in combination with AMDs recent C3 stepping CPUs, and has passed a strict testing regime to ensure the best performance and stability. G.Skill Flare provides AMD enthusiasts the perfect choice of high frequency memory that allows a greater attainable CPU bus clock, in order to overclock further and have best performance for productivity and gaming.

The new Flare series DDR3 kits consist of the following specification:
  • DDR3 1800MHz 4GB (2GBx2) CL6-8-6-24 1.65V
  • DDR3 1800MHz 4GB (2GBx2) CL7-8-7-24 1.65V
  • DDR3 1800MHz 4GB (2GBx2) CL8-8-8-24 1.65V
  • DDR3 1800MHz 4GB (2GBx2) CL9-9-9-27 1.65V

Looks nice. What are the prices on these bad boys?

i want to see wot other kits muskin gets for there red and black first but they look cool. My past rams have been Gskill kingston then back to gskill twice and then to muskin twice only cause gskill stoped being G. I like the colors alot. It maybe just a mockup i dont think the pcb is black on this (pshop)

The PCB colour is green. You can see the green tinge in the first pic under the heatspreader.

G.Skill really seems to be making a push into being a big name. Every time I recommend ram for someone they all go:" G.skill who's that?" It sucks too since key kit of g.skill that I've had has performed really well and they were cheap too. G.skills best asset seems to be their price, cheap but usually with not to bad timings either.

Very nice looking design, luvin the black and red colour on current computer hardware lately:toast::rockout:

They can and should cut down the fin size so that big coolers can fit.

gskills always been a big name... just at one point they slowed up and i mean HARD now they got a couple things out with catchy names. just hope quality goes back where it was. even if green pcb looks cool

WTF 1800 cas 6

I was starting to think nobody besides OCZ cared about AMD ;)

You only have the minimum amount of Flare.

G.Skill has been an excellent manufacturer of RAM for years. These Flare have a pretty good rated speed (1800) with quick timing (6-8-6-24) at 1.65 volts...I wonder what they would be able to do at 1.5 volts...

It's too bad that DDR3 doesn't really get hot enough (even when OC'd to ~2000 mhz) to utilize these amazing looking, gigantic heatsinks...Don't get me wrong...I love me some functionless aesthetics :toast: ...but it seems that all the tall RAM heatsinks just get in the way of our CPU coolers.

G-Skill rocks some nice looking Ram,, An Always first on my list of choices when building.

Nice!

Asus Crosshair IV (ROG), New 6 core Cpu's from AMD, And now this awesome RAM from G.Skill.

AMD based computers starting to catch up!

the flares on the side make it go ffaaasstt!!!!!! lol! ugly imo.

Just loved this 1800Mhz CAS 6 :D

I have agree with everyone, the heatsink is bit overkill. Love the look, but they could be shorter like the ripjaws to give room for coolers. Since they are boasting the AMD love, I hope it has a profile for AMD overdrive auto tune feature. That would be the icing on the cake

they look taller than the dominators im runin @6-6-6-15-21-1T @1400 @1.65 and they dont generate the kind of heat these heatsinks make u think they wud i wish ocz wud come back and release a crossfire labaled low profile set of ram like they did with ddr2 or corsair to drop the fins altogether

That is some of the sexiest ram I have ever seen. Now, I wonder if my P2 955 Black is a C3 stepping because I'd love to replace my Tridents with these bad boys.

It works with C2 stepping too, lol :)

I'd love to know what they did to make it "optimized for AMD3 C3 stepping platform"... Probably just a marketing scheme and these are just standard low latency high speed DDR3. And yes, it would work with C2 steppings and even X58 Intel platforms as well.

Black Edition memory profiles...extra SPD profiles that only AMD IMCs can access. Like Intel XMP.

Wish the TRCD wasn't so crappy on most of the memory now. CAS is important, but all these companies are using loose TRCD to get their memory to clock fast.

I'll stick with my Corsair GTX2's for now.

Thanks BT. That was the confirmation I was looking for. Very nice G.Skills, very nice.
