PowerColor Designs Radeon HD 5970 4GB Graphics Card with 12 Display Outputs

Do you really need that? You would have to sell your house, kids and one and a half kidney to afford 12 monitors. And it's not practical at all.

I'll keep the house, kids and my kidney, thank you... Anybody want my wife? Hell, it might buy me one of the backplates...

This could make the ultimate home game/movie theater from hell!

Would love to see someone but it and hook up all 12 monitors. The e-peen would be into the stratosphere.

Good to see ATI is having fun with their new cards, I wonder what they will think of next in the 6000 series.

probably made to topple matrox's monster for businesses

next Hollywood cinemas made by pc with many big LCD's and ATi eyefinity card

Imagine the time it would take to set the bezel correction on all those monitors!

And yet ... the targeting reticule will still be hidden behind the bezel! An odd number of monitors it the only way to do proper gaming. Unless ... you set up your monitor in 2 groups ... one of nine and one of three. Hmmm ... that could work.

I was actually mistaken. Only 2 ports per gpu support passive adapters, while the other 4 require DP or active adapters. I was thinking of the regular cards that only need 1 DP display, and the other 2 can be DVI or HDMI.

adaptors vs converters

Booo i rather get two of those Sapphire 5970 TOXIC 4GB. 12 screens is just crazy lol. But still wow. Imagining 12 50" screens together is mouthwatering . That would be like 600 effing inches!! But because its only display ports its gonna be really annoying lol. :p

Nah ;)

Gainward already had 1.

HD4870x2 golden sample.

This is btw a monster card.. love too see it running bad company 2 on 12 screens.

I have one of those, perhaps I've found a worthy successor.

I thought eye infinity was for more of a surround view. That to me is no better than buying a projector and sitting close.

I think eyefinity is what you make of it. Companies would be interested in that sort of 'large & flat' thing from an on-site advertising point of view.

And I'm not sure you can get projectors with high enough resolutions to match that?

adaptors vs converters

It's either or. Both terms are correct. Google search for active display port adapter, and exactly what I am referring to comes up.

Wow, I can see this card being used by security, but man oh man, if I were on duty, Id be playing some hellacious RTS or FPS games. HA HA!

And you would buy a projector with 11520 x 4320 resolution where?

If I were using it for gaming, I would use it for a surround effect. I believe it would change your sense of direction in the game. But if it's just to have a big flat screen....meh (high res or not). Not too mention the cost difference.

24*$160(the cheapest 22' monitor on Newegg) = $3840
1*$2600 (the most expensive projector, maybe not the best) = $2600

But that's just me....:toast:
