I have an Asus EAH5870 V1 and for the life of me cant flash the bios. i get some sort of error, cant remember what it says right now. I will have to get a screenshot of the message, but i was mainly trying to flash it to remove, or increase the 2d clocks due to crashing in full screen Hulu etc. if anyone has any ideas i would be grateful.

Was using the Dos atiflash utility by the way.

Here is a quick GPU-Z if helpful at all.

Have you tried completely wiping the drivers and reinstalling them? DriverSweeper does a good job.

The easiest way and most common method is using USB Flash. Grab a USB stick (You can buy cheap ones for $5) and then go on Google.com and search for "How to make USB Flash" there are dozens of ways. The one I used was creating a Windows 98 Boot. Once you have your Windows 98 Boot on the USB, attatch the BIOS .bin file to the ATIFlASH Folder and add it to the USB. Also, you need ATIFLASH.

Once you have all that done, then boot up your system. Some motherboards allows you to boot to devices (CD, Hard Drive, Floppy, etc...) Boot your system to USB.

If you did it correctly, you will see Windows 98 or whatever boot logo you chose will display.

Once your in the command line type C:\atiflash

Then you type atiflash -p "filename.bin" -f 0 (0=if you have one or XFIRE 0, is your 2nd card. 1= your first card)

If it loaded correctly you will see a bunch of scripts and it will tell you if you did it correctly.

Good luck :rockout:

@ Thrackan - drivers should not be a part of the equation since its in dos mode.

@ alexsubri - Im no stranger to flashing cards, and i even had my friend over who had recently flashed his 5850's with my 5870 bios. We did use a flash drive, and we even tried my card in his pc and got the same result. Let me try to get it to flash again and ill have to snap a picture of the message.
