It sure has the option of ac in, i don't think they did something so stupid to not put ac in. Even thought 6 hours for a "supposed" fine speaker is good.

6 hours is terrible. music is something you leaving playing for hours at a time, not have to go swap a battery in every single speaker every 6 hours - there will be more than one of these used at a time, and they wont all go flat together...

In comparison to other "rock speakers" on the market these are cheap. Take a look around. As someone who worked with custom A/V installations for years you would be surprised what the demand is (was) for these things. At least before the economy tanked anyway. We used to install these things (wired however) left and right and when installed properly (nice landscaping and blended in well) they really do rock. The only thing I would be worried about is the quality. I would have to see them in person.

6 hours is a lot of time sitting in the backyard and I'm sure you can buy extra batteries and a recharging cradle. Unless you have them sitting in the middle of your lawn most people won't notice them.

Everyone's laughing but I was laughing for another reason all together. I sell the X-Fi wireless system at work (and PC speakers) but just the other day someone came in asking for... You guessed it; wireless outdoor speakers to use from his PC! "Like ones that look like rocks?" I asked. Bingo.

Now... they have them! I do think there are people who will want this but the wireless transmitter should be sold with this. It should be the entire package ready to go wireless.

um, i could sorta see the use tho i can't imagine it sounding as good as any regular 200 speaker set/config out there. like probly below the Z-523's from logitech. could be wrong, but anything running off a battery can't have much oomph when it comes to speakers.

We're talking about of outdoor speakers with higher energy requeriments, not an ipod with small earbuds wich almost have no energy cost. That's why I said 6 hours for a nonsense like this it's fine.

ghettoblasters were portable. they were something you took with you when you moved around.

These are portable... but they cant be moved around with you easily, and they arent intended to be. so the 6 hours is terrible.

No solar charging = FAIL. I can't imagine going into the garden to flip the thing up and pull the battery module all the time.

To keep the nice look, they could have a solar panel on a cable so you could put the panel on a wall a few metres away or whatever and that way have it big enough.
