ATI 5870: Low 2D freqs question

So ATI owners know that starting from 10.5 drivers, the low 2D freqs are very frucked up, because they say, when using 2 monitor setup, you have flickering image or something. I agree with that, I had those artifrucks when I was connecting the TV for a God damn movie, but whn I'm using only my monitor there is no need to have 600Mhz for GPU (from 175 in 10.4) and 1200Mhz for RAM (from 300 in 10.4!!!). The temperature are also going nuts together with the power consumption, so this is very bad. I have tried everything, with profiles, riva tunner, MSI Afterburner (this one is even more crappier, since you can set a min of 635 for GPU and 900 for RAM, way worst than in ATI CCC), nothing worked.
Does any of you guys know of a solution of some sort to revert the 10.4 freqs without installing 10.4 drivers??? A hack or crack maybe?? :(

No luck on ths one, I'm afraid. I had some issues with flash acceleration in browser that the extra speeds fixed.
