YouTube is both loved and hated in the corporate world. While some media companies threaten to sue YouTube for having pirated content hosted on it's site, others have struck deals with YouTube. Fox, Viacom, CBS and NBC Universal have decided to take a different route entirely. They will start their own website, and place on it all their various television shows. There is no mention whether the viewable content will be free to users or if these media companies will charge for the use of their website.

And it will end up just like the ZUNE.

$5

Anyone? anyone?

(assuming they arent completely free like youtube is now)

they do it right... well they might stand a chance.

Hmmm... free website with everything i could ever want, vs. paying for a website with only a limited number of shows... I wonder which one I'll goto.

paying for stuff just doesnt apeal to me, i just finished watching the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh GX on youtube (52 eppisodes) so for me its youtube all the way.

You do know you can download Anime the proper way and not watch it in terable quality and in small 8 min chunks?

I hope they do this!!!! Imagine the future legal situation:

1./ YOU ARE ALLOWED TO PIRATE shows and stick them on an official website

2./ You cannot put the same rips on anyone elses website, or your own

That would open up such an interesting legal situation. It would "legitimise" the process, just restrict WHERE you can put the files.

Once that door is open..... WE'RE FREE

I dont know of any fansub group that has eps of Yu-Gi-Oh GX, but i do know there is a lot of anime on you tube that was released by fansubers then posted on you tube. Mostly with out permsion.

Not quite. You're dreaming.

I wouldn't mind cancelling my cable television if it meant that I could download any episode of any show I wanted. I think that's worth $20 a month.
