NVIDIA Releases GeForce 260.99 WHQL Driver Suite

This one did ask for a restart, last one didn't.

Great drivers!

Yes, it works just like the Catalyst installer now. Way to go Nvidia. I guess they threw in the "clean install" option for those who are too lazy to go into the control panel and uninstall their previous drivers. These drivers are working fine for me so far. No complaints.
Never did uninstall geForce drivers prior to installing.. never did have any issues. Last time I uninstalled prior to a driver upgrade was detonator.

Same here. Had to reinstall Windows to make it recognize the cards.

Since me don't game no more, me don't update. Last time me update, thee driver's don't recognise card. So me scared to update.

Last one did for me, this one didn't, odd.

I haven't been asked to restart for some time now. I though it was since the 260 drives, but now that I think about it, it has been since at least the 258, maybe even the 256 series.

Though I know sometimes it asks for restart and sometimes it doesn't, even when I've been installing the same driver. I know the previous 260.89 drivers asked me to restart on my server but not on my main machine. I'm sure several factors go into weither it asks to restart or not. Most likely it will ask to restart if something is using the 3D driver and it can't de-initialize the old driver. Come to think of it, I think I still had F@H going on the server but not on my desktop, I wonder if that was why I had to restart it.

A quick driver sweeper usually clears that up in the few instances it happened to me.

Yeah figured it out, but why bother doing all that when its only performance numbers in games? Since I don't even have time to play some good old or new games! ;)

I always do a fresh Windows install before updating Nvidia/Ati drivers.

It isn't only performance increases in games, it is often times bug fixes for games and not games alike, especially in cases where drivers are release so close together like this. But if you don't play games, and everything works that you use, then yeah I don't see much point in updating drivers every release.
