Wow..that's one helluva laptop...

IF you like that? You ought to see their designs of DESKTOP machines...

:)

* Their ideas are a LOT like my own, & mostly I say that, because they equip them w/ SOLID-STATE DISKDRIVES...

APK

Solid State?

RamDrives/RamDisks, albeit NOT ones from software (which cut into your SYSTEM RAM), but ones on a card w/ RAM on them!

The one I use is older (PCI 2.2 bus slot used), but, there are SATA I/II units out there, & soon? A PCI-Express unit x1 slot type (fast in burst AND seek/access - perfect combo imo, & faster than what I use now, in the CENATEK RocketDrive).

These units get recognized by the system & OS as another harddisk... but, one that has UNBELIEVABLE seek/access times on it!

(1000's of times faster than std. mechanical hdd's are)

:)

Good stuff, if you can make use of them!

(There are many uses for these)

E.G.-> I put my pagefile.sys onto the 1st partition of mine!

Then, on 2nd partition?? I place:

  • %temp% ops
  • browser caches
  • logging by OS & apps/services
  • print spooling location
  • %comspec%
Onto its 2nd partition - for SPEED, mainly!

(To not to clutter up my first Raptor X raid 0 setup w/ that data, & also to free it for other operations it does!))

* Good stuff, & it WORKS!

APK

P.S.=> L computers COST a great deal, but they are HELLISH in design... apk

And it's estimated to have a battery life of two and a half minutes.

Oh now, there will be no batteries. This thing runs on the souls of orphans...

That has to be one bitching gaming laptop to boot.

How much does one of these Solid State thingies cost then?

Buy a IDE to CF converter... only about $5-10. Buy a "prosumer" CF card, only about $100 for a reasonable "partition" size. Make sure you get HIGH HIGH speed. There you go! Not as pricy as you thought.

Cooled by goat blood most likely...
