EVGA is showing some love to the game of the day, Call of Duty: Black Ops, with a special edition GeForce GTX 580 graphics card that keeps up with the game's theme, and adds to die hard fans' collection. The EVGA GTX 580 Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition (part number: 015-P3-1583-AR) is a special package that includes a factory-overclocked GeForce GTX 580 graphics card bearing the game's theme in stickers, a game themed product box, and a game themed poster. The card doesn't, however, bundle a copy of the game itself. The GTX 580 card has factory-overclocked speeds of 797 MHz core, 1594 MHz CUDA cores, and 4050 MHz memory (GDDR5 effective), against reference speeds of 772/1544/4008 MHz. Available from EVGA store, the EVGA GTX 580 Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition is priced at $519.99, or $579.99 thanks to Newegg.com's 'unbeatable' pricing.

I think the card looks really sharp with the minimal sticker. It does seem weird that the game isn't included. I wonder how the whole "Black Ops" thing will affect resale values in the future when people think about how old that game is. I mean normally there isn't an additional reminder of how old the technology is when you buy a video card.

it's the fanboys and idiots who are willing to drop a pretty penny to pick them up at a gross mark-up only to show them off.

Have you seen the kind of hardware members of this site have? Have you seen how much "Upgrade-itis" that goes on here? That might be offensive to some. LOL.

I sincerely retract my statement. :respect:

Maybe it's the hatorade talking, or the jealousy, or the "I'm a student and I'm broke as a joke so I can't afford all the cool stuff "-ness... probably all of the above. I would give up [insert cliche here] for that fine piece of hardware.

Sums up my sentiments quite well. Black Ops marketing tendrils are violating almost every orifice possible.

The fastest dx11 gpu endorsing a non dx11 game designed to run on measly console hardware. How fitting

no wonder they didn't bundle the game with it, since the game is pretty much unplayable right now! Hats off EVGA, you predicted the shit-storm! /sarcasm/

Makes me wonder who buys these stuff, some time back, there was a COD jeep, hell yeah, thats milking at its best!

Yeah i was over EVGA forum laughing about this, and yes the game isn't great enough to be plastered and promoted on a card costing over 500 bucks, played it and its butt ugly as hell, particularly remember this one scene with a chopper landing with some cheap sun flare effects.

Them cashing in on hype and they're not the only ones, another products with crap ops plastered all over it http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=29675&zenid=024079b98e4a0ee179e7b144f47fcc45

if they did not include the black-ops itself why would they bother putting mafia 2 into it..

LOL, people are complaining about Black Ops when it runs fine on a GTX 460. :p Quite fun compared to Modern Warfare 2.

It makes perfect sense: EVGA does not need to pony up a copy of the game since that most people buying that edition already own the game. Why not save some money in the process?

Yeah but the REAL fanbois will just sit there and jerk off to the box. So they will never know the game sucks. They will just run Vantage again and again while plastering their results all over unrelated threads and proclaim their dominance.

Until someone shows up with 6870 X-fire and their old "Physx GPU" card and decimates them at HIS H687F1G2M Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI...
$100 cheaper.

$519 is not 600 dollars .. . . . Math ?

Maybe so but you don't have to hate on them for doing so.

1. The game does not suck

2. your trolling

3. Your thread crapping

Aye, but part of being a true fanboy is getting ripped off by your beloved brand and still stick to it.

Why hate on people for having more money, you see it as a rip off, I see it as purchasing a card where the drivers aren't written in FAIL.

Now that all that is said AMD trolls please refrain from thread crapping, as of now Nvidia has the fastest single GPU out there, it's clear your butt hurt over it, but please keep your nerd rage to yourself, and let's have a constructive discussion.

Well someone is mad and got severely trolled.

It is not that big of a deal. We all have different opinions about COD:BO, and it is a reality that for %50 of gamers, they cannot run the game. That is why people say it sucks. Opinions will change when they can run it. Just cause you are from [H] does not mean you can call someone mentally incompetent. Also, WTF is an AMD Troll?
