SilverStone is readying a new series of PSUs under the Strider Gold banner. As the name might suggest, PSUs in this series are 80 Plus Gold compliant, yielding extremely high efficiency. Models in the series consist of 750W, 850W, 1000W, and 1200W. The PSUs feature completely modular cabling, a single +12V rail design, active PFC, over current, over power, over voltage, over temperature, under voltage, short circuit, and no load protection mechanisms; and 100,000 hours MTBF. All models are cooled by a 135 mm fan that has a noise output (depending on load/temperature) of 19 to 36 dBA.

80+ Gold is old news, I want some 80+ Platinum power supplies.
 
It's never wrong to have more quality PSU's to choose from.
 
80+ gold is good because it lowers the prices even more. I Agree tho Newtekie, I want platinum and then what titanium? LOL
 
past 80+ platinum we just need 90+ specs to be released given 80+ platinum is; ≥90% @ 20% load, ≥92% @ 50% load, and ≥89% @ 100% load.

turns out that FSP PSU would meet said spec if it were released.

I still want a revolution 85+ PSU :P
 
I'm glad to see Silverstone drumming up some new stuff... it seems ever since Corsair started selling rebranded Seasonic making power supplies, pretty much everyone else was shut out of the "great power supply manufacturers" talk. It seems like the market has, in the most part, been exclusive to Corsair... Silverstone makes some great stuff, I hope they get some recognition with these new power supplies.
 
errr the old 850 and 750w is most of the times over 87% in tests, so why even release them haha :roll:

It always annoys me when people say this. It isn't like Corsair(or anyone else putting power supplies on the market) is just slapping a sticker on a Seasonic power supply and calling it their own. They aren't rebranding anything. Corsair designs the power supply, and Seasonic builds it. You might as well be saying eVGA rebrands Foxconn graphics cards, because Foxconn is the one who actualy manufacturers the cards(IIRC, it might be someone else, but I know it isn't eVGA). Just because they have Seasonic build the units doesn't mean they are rebranding Seasonic units to their own.

And Silverstone themselves use FSP as an OEM, and they might use others, so chances are this power supply is just another "rebrand".

Do AMD and NVIDIA sell rebranded TSMC made GPUs? No? Then that's how Corsair is related to Seasonic, CWT, Flextronics, or its various other foundry partners.

The Strider Plus is built by Enhance and this looks very similar. Also I just looked at Tom's PSU thing and it doesn't list FSP as an OEM.

Enhance sounds right for the Strider. I know some of SilverStone's SFX power supplies are FSP made for sure, as I've bought a few and looked up the UL.
 
Yup, just checked UL's FSP listing and I see some Silverstones there.
 
Where are the 1500W 80+ GOLD PSUs?

My Silverstone PSU has been great so far! :D

80+ Uranium. Produces electricity on its own. No power cord, no hassle.
