Toshiba joined the small but growing group of PC manufacturers ready with a netbook powered by AMD's upcoming Fusion "Brazos" platform. Revealed by Toshiba Germany, the NB550D is a 10.1-inch netbook driven by AMD C-50 Fusion APU with two processor cores clocked at 1.00 GHz, carrying AMD Radeon HD 6250 DirectX 11 compliant graphics. It is backed by 1 GB of memory, 250 GB of storage, connectivity that includes WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and gigabit Ethernet. The unit itself weighs 1.32 kg, comes in three bezel color options: orange, green and brown. It embeds a VGA webcam, and is powered by a 6-cell battery. At full charge, the battery can run the netbook for up to 9.5 hours. It comes with Windows 7 Starter pre-installed. It should be released along with most other Fusion Brazos netbooks, in Q1-2011.

I like the Aspire One 522 more. Looks far better.

Now that's a screen bezel thick enough for three notebooks :shadedshu

This one has a 6-cell battery (which is why it's so long, hence the disproportionate bezel in the top), so it should do 8-10 hours.

I doubt the AO522 has the same big battery.

Top is fugly, but I kinda like what's going on with the keyboard and palm rest. Hopefully they'll wise up and give us a couple nice Brazos entries in the 12/13-inch category... 10-inches is still way too small a laptop for me.

Can't wait until this fills the market and I can grab myself an older netbook for el cheapo. Nice tech, but this thing is fugly.

Did I miss something, what is this Brazos they speak of?

The low(est) power version of Fusion platforms.

It's the name they came up for Ontario (9W) and Zacate (18W).
The C-50 is an Ontario, and should provide higher battery life than the current single-core, while offering a much higher performance (multimedia/gaming-wise).
