I honestly think Intel knows it getting bulldozed very soon. (Am hoping :nutkick:). So Intel quickly released their SB to sell as many as they can, whilst no AMD Bulldozer parts, Never even ironed out the bugs/testing done none:eek:

It’s pretty easy to see that Intel is freaking out, rushing & panicking in the process. The tick - tock is history soon.:banghead: Nm progress will happen but 2x (more as we get smaller nm) as slow to half nodes as different materials and equipment is used.

I see company’s working together in groups to save costs in the future as process gets much smaller. Intel maybe going at it alone (more risk and very expensive)

"Two-processor servers using these latest AMD Opteron processors outperform Intel Xeon 5680 (“Westmere”) processor-based servers on eight key server benchmarks."

2 ?

Heck, this is only an little higher clocked 32nm 6 core. how the hell can 12 core be still behind the processing specially on servers. I mean sure double bdw AVX etc Intel CPU internal encryption hardware processing of AES might be pretty cool, but still it's weird.

That means 240w for 4ghz I imagine

Not these are meant for overclocking, but still.

Oh I can see it now... The CPU smoking, sparks flying out the side of the case!

So is there supposed to be a desktop version of these 12-core CPU's?

And just a side note, Bulldozer has been in work isnce 2005....AMD's release had better be as good or better than what intel has to offer when the time comes. If 5 years of work, building an architecture from the ground up, isn't enough time to surpass your competition's product there's something wrong. Yes Intel has a lot of money, but the past 3-5 years they haven't invented anything astounding. They've really just evolved their CPU's, just upgrading old techniques and tweaking current core's.

AMD i've always noticed are more inventive/creative than Intel with a much smaller budget, and i hope Bulldozer proves that.
