Strange things going on with my RAM

long time ago i wanted to use both windows xp and windows 7 Ultimate 64x
on the one hard drive so i used a program called EASEUS Partition Master to make 2 partitions you can make 2 partitions with one hard drive

i made 2 partitions C: and D: 50 / 50

i have windows 7 installed on C: and xp on D:

(Note i don't know if this is the cause of the problem but i bring it up anyway)

when it was fresh installed i did this windows Experience on windows 7 and i got a nice score

everything was higher then 7 except for the Hard drive it was 5.9

now to the thing
so i did some over clocking into the BIOS and I'm aware of that it slows down your memory
and so on but i used optimized defaults to return it back to normal
then the Windows experience thing wanted to do a update so i did

and then my memory went from 7.4 to 5.9
and when i went to my control panel (system) it says that i have 4 gig of ram

but 3.25 can be used why is it like this?

and do you guys have a clue how to change it back to normal

Note: this happened one time earlier but i reinstalled windows 7 and it was back to 4 GB

Also the BIOS is telling me that my ram frequency is around 1000 mhz and not 1333 if i remember right.

That is strange.... Did you try setting your Memory timings and Speed back to it's original state? When you reinstalled did you keep your overclock going and not reset it for the reinstall..plus while installing the drivers and things over.

Did you reset your BIOS lately with realizing it?

When I reinstall everything.... I was taught ( Granted I don't know if it matters it's just the way I was thought) To get rid of my overclock while reinstalling until after I installed the drivers again. Example chipset drivers....

Try resetting your BIOS... and then setting up your overclock again.

Also are you using a pirated copy that has the option to either install 32bit window7 or 64 bit windows 7??? 32-bit can only use 3.2 gb of Ram.
I don't think the Hard Drive could have anything to do with it.

Another thought is that with the Windows update... your memory went from a higher score to a lower score because of newer Hardware being released. That wouldn't have to do with the timings but it could do with the score. Even though I Have never seen that happen.

Something sounds strange. I would reset your BIOS completely....(If you have a reset BIOS Switch or by removing the battery) Then re overclock. Also what software are you using to read your settings??? It could be the software reading it wrong for example... when I use a Multi of 22 on my Asus Maximus 3 MOB....most programs will read a overclock of 3.6Ghz when I am at 3.8.
But CPU-Z will show the right speed.

There should be a setting in your mobo to see all 4 gigs.

As for your memory performance that puzzles me. Perhaps it's not using dual channel.

I would reset your bios to default and start from there.
