Taiwanese MP3 manufacturer Luxpro has stated that they are planning on suing Apple for $100 million. Luxpro was originally sued by Apple on claims that it was copying the design of Apple's iPod Shuffle. Luxpro countered the claims by saying that the prominence of its logo and a series of "easy-to-operate features" were adequate differentiation. After winning an appeal against Apple, the company now plans to move onto the offensive. In a press release, the company stated that it would be suing Apple for 100 million USD. The figure is to receive compensation for Apple's earlier lawsuit in which Luxpro claims they lost valuable market opportunities and a large amount of product orders.

I couldn't agree more... this patent suing is getting out of hand. There needs to be a patent class system... where there is clearly a difference in "genuine new technology" vs. "you do this all the time, is nothing novel, but now we have a patent to do this on an electronic of software devide"

Personally, since Apple lawyers are usually the worst: they are the ones initiating these law suits... I actually hope that someone (or some company) is successful in countersuing.

Can you imagine that 10 ears ago someone had a patent on "an electronic device small enough to fit in your pocket"... how blxxdy stupid that would be, and the headaches it would cause today. Unfortunately, the current patent system is creating so many barriers to innovation in the future. It is counterproductive.

Software A lot.
Benchmark Scores Its fast. Enough.
The english, many moons ago.

And it isn't sueing, it is filing a suit. Or taking legal action.

The whole idea is that any one, any company should be able to check and balance another. All first brought before a grand jury to determine if there is enough evidence to proceed. And there is where the problem is. Too many stupid people with not enough good things to do, so thy allow big turds like this to drop and try to milk it to feel important.

have you all noticed non of the frivolous lawsuits take place in Britian because companies like this know they would have no chance in winning.

And when I become a Solicitor in a few years their chances will be even slimmer. Bring it on boys.
