Akasa Unveils Venom Voodoo CPU Cooler

Akasa displayed the second generation of its iconic Venom tower-type CPU cooler, the Venom Voodoo. The Voodoo comes with a few apparent changes over the original. Firstly, two Viper 120 mm fans come standard, the original would give you just one, with the provision to add a second pull fan. Second, a plastic cap is added on top of the heatsink. Third, the heatsink design itself has undergone a change. It now uses six 6 mm thick copper heat pipes to convey heat to the aluminum fins, the original had four. The Venom Vooodoo retains the toxic color scheme that gave the original its product feel.

The word Venom (in the context of the coler's by Antec) always make me think of the name Phenom. The yellow is at least something different than all the black 'n' blue.

Seriously, Venom and Voodoo in one name? why not the ultimate f**kin warrior or unbelievable fantastical thingy majig or something.

Seriously and this isn't a racial comment, a lot of these manufacturers based out in taiwan/china etc need to have some european/US marketing employees cause some of the marketing spiel that comes from them is just laughable.

Nice looking HSF though wouldn't go in many of my builds with the yellow colouring in there.

Most of them do. Their marketing departments, company websites, tech support, and even corporate relations are handled by westerners. I'm sure that's the case with Akasa, too. If not, they'd have named this "Glorious Dragon" or something.

i like the fan design. but this cooler offers no new things, basically the same like other tower design

I'm liking the fan color. The fans at least will go great with my CM Scout yellow theme. I wonder how much of an improvement there is on coolness between this model and the original.
