Samsung is launching a new SSD 470 package with greatly enhanced user convenience features compared to the existing SSD 470 series. This July, all Samsung 470 Series SSDs will include a full copy of Norton Ghost 15.0 to greatly reduce the frustration of data migration, backup, and recovery. While the physical installation of the drive is trivial to many users, the tedious process of installing the OS, running OS updates, installing patches, reinstalling software, setting up user preferences, and migrating old data is frustrating and time-consuming. With the inclusion of Norton Ghost 15.0, the time it takes to migrate to a new SSD is reduced by up to 75 percent, meaning your new drive can be up and running in under an hour instead of nearly four.

Additionally, desktop users will benefit from the included connecting cables and new, adjustable mounting brackets. Stefanie Summerfield Head of Business Development - Memory said, "The new Samsung SSD 470 series is top-notch in terms of user convenience in the industry. I believe it will provide a new level of consumer satisfaction." She added, "Samsung's included software solutions significantly reduce the difficulty of data migration and management for novice users. We are serious about this industry and will play hard to expand our market share in the SSD market."

The Samsung SSD 470 series was launched in Korea last January and sold 10,000 units within two months, thanks to its fast data processing speed, impact resistance, and superior multitasking support. Samsung Electronics UK are now launching the 470 series later this month and including a full version of Norton Ghost 15.00. Samsung believe this combination of high quality hardware and Norton software will be an ideal solution for consumers looking to boost the performance of their existing laptop or desktop.

iSuppli, a market intelligence firm, expects the global SSD market to expand by more than three times from USD 2.2 billion in 2010 to USD 7.5 billion in 2015 with a compound annual growth rate of 26.8%.

Oooo, Ahhhh.

Cost please?

How about doing the intelligent thing and just remove the crappy Norton software and pass the savings onto your customers?

No mention of price and what SATA interface this is native to....yea, this one's a real eye opener here.

You already have 470 without Norton Ghost. This is a new bundle.

Besides, Norton Ghost is quite useful, it does what Intel's Migration Assistant software does (clone your HDD onto the SSD), plus a lot of other backup features.

Useless if you are using the SSD for a fresh install.

There will be no change to the 470 series product, it is getting a bit old now, SATA 3 Gbit/s interface. A decent product but has always been a little overpriced IMO.

Breathless you nailed it.
I would throw that software in the rubbish at the retail store I buy it from.

Acronis True Image home free with and WD drive is good enough. Max 15mins to load a win7ultimate backup image to a new hd/ssd.
PS> this is one hell of a decent ssd.

Few things to keep in mind, it is more expensive, get a decent intel driver past the .30 that fixes major intel sata performance bugs.
Download the Samsung ssd magician program and let it optimize the performance / download and make a usb firmware stick and you would be in SATAII heaven.

If only it was SATAIII .
PS: You can use the same win7 ssd in another pc, on first boot press F8 and let it in safe mode do it's driver trick and once finished do a normal start. 1 ssd works on 2 pc's or this works for me.
