The war between Blu-ray and HD-DVD has yet to be won, though HD-DVD did win a battle for the porn industry has chosen HD-DVD. This multi-billion industry, even though not everyone publicly admits they fund it, already finished off Betamax in the VHS - Betamax war, it might just be the ultimate weapon again. However, since this specific industry spreads across the Internet like a plague it might not be the determining factor in this war. Many viewers prefer the anonymous nature of the internet which makes both HD-DVD and Blu-ray less interesting.
Apparently the reason behind this choice is rather simply, money. HD-DVD is cheaper and easier to produce, and according to the adult industry there are more HD-DVD players available at the moment.

In due time we shall know if this battle turned the tides. And on a more personal note, I shall download my pr0n until the future HD standard is final.

I remember reading somewhere (probably on digg) that sony refuses to let porn on the blu ray disks for some reason :p, i hope blu ray disks dont eventually get phased out though. They can hold more stuff on them :D

I mean really HOW much better is porn in HD? The pr0n we have now has surround and it certainly does add anything to it. How much clearer does it have to be? I have an HD TV and my home theatre unit has HDMI out on it, but HD porn wasnt first on my list of must see/buy:rolleyes:

Yeah, seriously. And besides, who actually watches porn for more than 15 or 20 minutes at a time? lol

ROFl, 10 or 15 minutes ::rofl:: I never did know much of betmax. I mean, on that 70s show, it looks like a VHS machine. Oh and interesting to note that Sony came up with betamax. If history repeats itself :respect:

HD-DVD has won. Porn has got to be the most popular form of media entertainment there is. There is more porn on the net than anything else. I totally see the similarities between Blue-Ray and Betamax. Sony has had a hard time connecting to the mainstream American public and the biggest problem is price. Betamaxes and Ps3's are expensive and with no real standout between HD-DVD and Blue Ray, the cheaper disk with more support will win, just as VHS won. I own a PS3 and I love it. Now I just hope Sony will stick by their Ps3, "bite the bullet" for their customers and not let it fail like Betamax.

Naaa... you can't really compare VHS/Betamax to this situation. It won't be the deciding factor, but may indeed influence.

At the time:
There was no alternative for watching porn, other then beating off in a theater or car. VHS came along and you could do it privately and buy movies in brown bags and use even more kleenex.

Now:
Porn is everywhere. Now on DVD... streaming video, your cell phone, PSP etc... Like everyone else says, would it be better in HD? Maybe some, but yea, HD can reveal things the eye can't see - and man, that could be scary, LOL.
