Guess the warehouse were full with old silicon. At least they aren't planning to rebrand them :ohwell:

lol @ 2 small fans...

HIS should make this fanless, instead of 2 ugly (and probably, noisy) small fans.
HTPC is all about quiet.

HD6670 is more then just an HTPC graphics card, this one can actually run games at 720P resolution at decent settings

think A8-3850 + this - a great choice

It depends, those 2 fans could run on low RPM, this way they should be more quiet than a single one of them doing the job of both. Because noise in dB is a logarithmic/non linear function, and RPM-Airflow relation isn't linear either.

Which could mean the following (shot in the dark):

-suppose you need max of air flowing
-suppose a single fan of those can provide max air flowing at 1000RPM, and half air flowing at 650RPM, but the fan at 650RPM is inaudible between 0 or -10 dB while being completely audible at 1000RPM 20~30 dB. So then even 3 of those fans at 650RPM should be more quiet than a single one running at 1000RPM

i think the two fans look sexy

Nice. I think I've found the hardware for my mini-ITX rig. :)

yup thsi is perfect for htpcs, they even include 2 mini-PCIe brackets for just the VGA or the DVI :O

I don't think it would be possible to run the 6670 fanless and keep a low profile design. The two fans aren't probably that noisy though, they likely spin at a relatively low RPM(compared to a single small fan).

yup making a 6670 fanless is a hard task, they are pretty powerful.

To get fan-less you need Heat-Pipes and large wrap around cooler. Then most I've seen like that aren’t half-height so might not fit a bunch on media enclosures and that adds expense. To pack 6770 and 1Gb on a half-height isn’t easy, then control that with a H-P cooler all package in an acceptable envelope that still retains the two slot/ half-height would take engineering and cost cash. This looks to use a straight-forward extrusion… cheap.

If they're smart (HIS and the fans) they'll run separate fans profiles. First fan on for idle and low demands, the second kicks in at load and then both spin up fully under extreme load... and then what’s it matter your gaming a the sound is up anyway or headphones.

If AMD really launches the low end first we may see the 7670 pretty soon here. Since these models always stick to 65watts this will be in for a straight up performance boost. That would put it within a few % of the 6770. Very impressive.

wha ha ha low profile card with dual fan.
high end card must be shame coz of this

Unsure why this has 1gb of memory, seems a waste for a card seemingly targeted as HTPC and mom box machines.

WONT IT BE AWESOME IF YOU CAN GAME ON YOUR htpc?

I game on my HTPC... at 720p (1366x768) and med/low settings but it games nonetheless :pimp:

This + A8-3850 = mini ITX monster.
