Gaming peripherals expert Thrustmaster displayed its latest joystick for consumer flight-simulators, and popular multiplayer online games such as Tom Clancy's HAWX series and Battlefield 3. Its design is a replica of the flight stick A-10 C Thunderbolt II ground-attack aircraft, an iconic plane for many military aviation enthusiasts. While games like Battlefield 3 don't give you playable a A-10 C, its playable fighters are equipped with chain guns that let you perform some ground-attack maneuvers. Apparently Thustmaster got all its design rights in order, as it bears the coveted "Hotas Warthog" and USAF badges. It is accompanied by a replica throttle unit.

I tried to hook a stick or control pad up for BF3. Never could get it to work right. Same with Rise of Flight. Wanted to play the game so bad but setting up the controls is just a nightmare. My old Fox 2 Pro didn't work right and the 360 pad, while working, was either missing controls or just didn't handle the same. Couldn't get it to behave the way I wanted it to.

I used to love joystick games. Now I find them more pain than not. What happened? Used to just plug in the joystick, load the game, then maybe do a calibration and that was it. Now its, plug it in, set keybinds for everything. Sit there an hour trying to get it all calibrated. Then test and do it all over again when something doesn't go right.

Sounds like you need a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, it may not be fancy, but I can easily use it and didn't have to install drivers or calibrate it. Just this morning I flew from Iowa to Nevada took 2 hours.

Man that thing is SWEET !

While games like Battlefield 3 don't give you playable a A-10 C,

it does in rush Caspian borders

This really isn't a new product either. It has been out for quite a few months.

all that said, this stick looks bad ass!!! it hasnt been out a few months, it was announced a few months ago. you couldnt find it retail, hopefully now we can

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I forked out the £270 for this joystick/throttle combo, along with 85 for rudder pedals and £115 for a Track IR 4 Pro, all because of the true greatness of the DCS Warthog and DCS Blackshark sims.

Have to say though, it was all worth the expense + the upgrades to my rig to get it all smooth ad silky. The way the controls dovetail ito the sim is incredible, and immersion is racheted up still further with the Track IR. I love Eagle Dynamics, all power to their elbow!

It was released quite a long time ago (Oct 29, 2010), if I am not mistaken.. unless this is an updated version. ?

But either way, would love to get my hands on one of these, but the price is a little out of my range for a joystick.. even as cool as it is. Still using a MS SideWinder Precision Pro. And while it's pretty old (6, maybe 7 years?), it still is one of the best Joysticks I have ever used.. I am looking at getting the TM T.Flight Hotas X though.

Strange to see this again. Is it an update version or an anniversary one?

I've seen this joystick available for a year now. I would've bought if I hadn't bought Logitech G940 a year before that. Even then I turned back to trusty (a whole lot cheaper) Logitech 3D Extreme for most of my flying games (the non study, arcade style ones). Being a lefty does impede the proper use of the G940.

Sounds like you need a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro,

I have the same problem with this joystick in BF3 - My friend also suffers from the same issue in BF3 but he has a saitek joystick.

the mapping for the joysticks are just completely screwed up at the moment. DICE have known that they were screwed up since the beta and according to them they have been trying to fix it since. Ive heard reports that using an Xbox controller hooked up to the PC works like a charm though, so go figure.....

with all that said though....the joystick was amazing for BF2

A long phallic object made by a company called thrustmaster.
