Teased by its maker earlier this month, the PowerColor Radeon HD 7970 LCS (Liquid Cooling System) Edition graphics card has found its way onto Overclockers UK's website where it can be found on pre-order priced at £599.99 (~ $951 / ~ 718 Euro).

PowerColor's new, Tahiti-powered card comes equipped with a single-slot EK Nickel Acetal waterblock and features a core clock of 1050 MHz (up from the stock 925 MHz), 2048 Stream Processors, a 384-bit memory interface, 3 GB of GDDR5 VRAM set to 5700 MHz (5500 MHz stock), PCI-Express 3.0, DirectX 11.1 and OpenGL 4.2 support, CrossFireX and Eyefinity capabilities, and four display outputs - one dual-link DVI, one HDMI and two mini DisplayPorts.

The Radeon HD 7970 LCS is backed by a two-year warranty and should start shipping before the end of this month.

I guess it's a reference PCB right? I'd rather pick up the Asus Direct CU II with the custom block from EK, more juice on custom versions :)

That isn't the best price reflection as your keeping our stupendous tax rate on it. Ideally take off 20% before converting (£480 ~ $760).

Still a ridiculous rip off for something that both the US and UK import from foreign lands. Or more likely, our import wholesalers ramp up the prices to the UK retailers.

Either way, EK block (£75) plus normal powercolor 7970 (£419) + healthy overclock = £494 for the same thing (minus warranty of course!).

one watercooler reference HD7970?
OR a couple of advanced-aircooled HHD7950s for the same price?
hard hard decision.

Maybe so... and I am sure they work well.... but the people buying them are getting ripped off. I guess I will add one more thing.... Until the green team drops the bomb AMD and their partners can charge what ever they like for the worlds fastest GPU and water cooling components.

Still waiting for these suckers to drop in price in general. €500+ per card is way over my budget at the moment.
