The new Intel 7-series Chipset family is now available and shipping in mobile and desktop OEM systems and motherboards worldwide. These new chipsets provide the companion logic to the 2nd Generation Intel Core processors today and will support the 3rd Generation Intel Core processor family (codenamed Ivy Bridge) later in Q2.

The new Intel 7-series Chipset family also integrates USB 3.0 and enables responsiveness technologies like Intel Smart Response, Intel Smart Connect, and Intel Rapid Start in desktop and mobile platforms. Intel is also introducing several desktop motherboards that feature the new Intel 7-series Express Chipset.

nice can't wait to see these Mobo's on the Egg. Z75/H77 will fit my needs :)

I hope the majority of motherboards don't have active cooling on the chipset because i had a chipset fan fail and it was really annoying as i had to help the fan with my finger to go again. Having a fan there is just one more moving part to fail, just use heatpipes and heatsinks.

I say this because i've seen a... evga (maybe) motherboard with a fairly large chipset fan.

Also hope the TDP is reasonably low. As i have a heatpiped chipset that heats to ~50C.

Do people really buy Intel-brand Motherboards? They always seemed greatly overpriced and lacking in features to me.
